Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

WEIGHTED NEUTROSOPHIC SOFT SETS APPROACH IN A MULTICRITERIA DECISION MAKING PROBLEM

open access: yesJournal of New Theory, 2015
– The paramount importance of decision making problem in an imprecise environment is becoming very much significant in recent years. In this paper we have studied weighted neutrosophic soft sets which are a hybridization of neutrosophic sets with soft ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

SOFT Λβ-CLOSED SETS IN SOFT TOPOLOGICAL SPACES

open access: yesJournal of New Theory, 2015
− In this paper, we introduce the notions of soft β-kernel of soft sets, S∧β-closed sets andS∧β-open sets in soft topological spaces. The concept of S∧β-sets, as a generalization to the classof soft β-open sets, is defined.

Understanding heavy tails in a bounded world or, is a truncated heavy tail heavy or not? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We address the important question of the extent to which random variables and vectors with truncated power tails retain the characteristic features of random variables and vectors with power tails. We define two truncation regimes, soft truncation regime

Operations on Soft Sets Revisited [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
The concept of soft sets introduced by Molodtsov is a general mathematical tool for dealing with uncertainty. Just as the conventional set-theoretic operations of intersection, union, complement, and difference, some corresponding operations on soft sets have been proposed.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

THE RESTRICT AND EXTEND OF SOFT SET

open access: yesJournal of New Theory, 2015
In 1999, Molodtsov [1] introduced the concept of soft sets. In 2003, Maji et al. [2] presented a detailed theoretical study of soft sets which includes soft subset of a soft set, equality of soft sets and operations on soft sets such as union and ...

Fuzzy Supernova Templates II: Parameter Estimation

open access: yes, 2010
Wide field surveys will soon be discovering Type Ia supernovae (SNe) at rates of several thousand per year. Spectroscopic follow-up can only scratch the surface for such enormous samples, so these extensive data sets will only be useful to the extent ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
