Tissue‐Stimulator Platform for Electrically Stimulating Pancreatic β‐Cells for Long‐Term Functional Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a tissue‐stimulator platform for seamless electrode integration with pancreatic tissue, applying uniform electrical stimulation through optimized design with biohybrid 3D printing. Advantageous effects of electrical stimulation on β‐cell function were observed, including enhanced calcium signaling, islet morphology, and maturation.

Lymph node metastases, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and lymphadenectomy in soft tissue sarcoma — when and why?

open access: yesOncology in Clinical Practice
The spread of soft tissue sarcomas (STS) through the lymphatic system occurs rarely, mainly in epithelioid sarcoma, angiosarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, and clear cell sarcoma (CARE). STS subtypes differ in terms of biological behavior.

Ultrasmall Platinum Nanoparticles for Radiation‐Enhanced Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work proposes a nanomedicine‐based strategy to enhance X‐ray radiotherapy for cancer treatment. Ultrasmall Pt‐NPs exhibit catalase‐like activity that may contribute to modulation of the tumor microenvironment and amplify interactions between radiation and biological matter, leading to increased DNA damage.
