Software maintenance cost estimation with fourth generation languages [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
This thesis addresses the problem of allocation of software maintenance resources in a commercial environment using fourth generation language systems. The activity of maintaining software has a poor image amongst software managers, as it often appears ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Documentation for software maintenance and there documentation of existing systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
The importance of software documentation in maintenance work is widely acknowledged by those involved in the work. However, many new software projects axe still being produced with documentation that is inadequate for efficient support of the product ...

Supporting Software Architecture Maintenance by Providing Task-Specific Recommendations

open access: yes, 2020
© 2019 IEEE. During software maintenance, developers have different information needs (e.g., to understand what type of maintenance activity to perform, the impact of a maintenance activity and its effort).

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Scientific Software: Legacy Software Maintenance

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2016
Software production and maintenance is one of the most widely studied topics in computer science. Taking into account that scientists were the first ones to perform this task, even before the Computer Science discipline obtained its name, scientific ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Hypothesis-based concept assignment to support software maintenance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Software comprehension is one of the most expensive activities in software maintenance and many tools have been developed to help the maintainer reduce the time and cost of the task.
