Geographic variation in walking activity in the red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study examined whether there is geographic variation in field populations, focusing on the moving activity in the red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum. Results showed significant differences in moving activity among field populations but no correlation with latitude or meteorological factors.

Comparing Static and Dynamic Weighted Software Coupling Metrics

open access: yesComputers, 2020
Coupling metrics that count the number of inter-module connections in a software system are an established way to measure internal software quality with respect to modularity.

occumb: An R package for site occupancy modeling of eDNA metabarcoding data

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study introduces a new R package, occumb, for the convenient application of site occupancy modeling using environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding data. We outline a data analysis workflow, including data setup, model fitting, model assessment, and comparison of potential study settings based on model predictions, all of which can be performed using

Axiomatic Testing of Structure Metrics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Axiomatic testing of software metrics is described, based on axioms from representational measurement theory. In a case study, the axioms are given for the formal relational structure and the empirical relational structure.

Between Droughts and Floods: The Seasonal Response of Freshwater Snails in Artificial Reservoirs in the Brazilian Semiarid Region

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
We investigate the seasonal dynamics of two freshwater snails, Biomphalaria straminea and Melanoides tuberculata, in artificial reservoirs of the Brazilian semiarid region. Despite regulated hydrology, B. straminea exhibited strong seasonal fluctuations associated with dry periods, while M. tuberculata maintained stable populations throughout the year,

Improving Software Defect Prediction by Aggregated Change Metrics

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
To ensure the delivery of high quality software, it is necessary to ensure that all of its artifacts function properly, which is usually done by performing appropriate tests with limited resources.

Analysis of Software Quality Using Software Metrics [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal on Computational Science & Applications, 2018
Software metrics have a direct link with measurement in software engineering. Correct measurement is the prior condition in any engineering fields, and software engineering is not an exception, as the size and complexity of software increases, manual inspection of software becomes a harder task.
