Dinamika populasi wereng punggung putih, sogatella furcifera Stål (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) di jawa tengah

open access: yesJurnal Entomologi Indonesia, 2017
A field study was conducted at paddy fields in Petarukan and Pekalongan regencies of Central Java province during wet season crop 1989/90 and 1990/91 to elucidate population dynamic of whitebacked planthopper, Sogatella furcifera Stål.

Action thresholds of wet rice arthropods for pest management decision-making in Malaysia [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Action thresholds to aid pest population management decision-making of 11 categories of wet rice arthropods are suggested in terms of mean population density per hill (x) and proportion of infestation (P(I)) of the field sampling units.

Genetic Diversity of the Planthopper, Sogatella furcifera in the Greater Mekong Subregion Detected by Inter-Simple Sequence Repeats (ISSR) Markers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The white backed planthopper, Sogatella furcifera (Hemiptera: Delphacidae), is a serious pest of rice in Asia. In the present study, inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers were employed to investigate the genetic diversity and differentiation of 47 ...

Biochar Suppresses Growth, Pupation and Eclosion Success of a Specialist (Manduca sexta) and a Generalist (Spodoptera frugiperda) Insect Herbivore

open access: yesJournal of Sustainable Agriculture and Environment, Volume 4, Issue 2, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Biochar is a charcoal‐like substance made by the pyrolysis of organic material from agricultural and forestry waste. While biochar is well documented for altering soil physicochemical conditions, few studies have investigated its possible effects on the management of arthropod pests.

Evaluation of egg mortality factors in the whitebacked planthopper, Sogatella furcifera Horvath.

open access: yesKyushu Plant Protection Research, 1993
Egg mortality factors of the whitebacked planthopper, Sogatella furcifera HORVATH were evaluated in paddy fields planted with a japonica variety, Hinohikari for 6 weeks from late-tillering to heading stage. The overall mortality rate was more than 80% throughout the census period with a peak of 92.7% at 7 weeks after transplanting.

Analysis of Differential Proteins in Two Wing-Type Females ofSogatella furcifera(Hemiptera: Delphacidae) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Insect Science, 2016
Sogatella furcifera(Horvath) is an important rice pest with the wing dimorphism, including macropterous and brachypterous morphs. The protein expression profiles in two wing-type adults and two wing-type disc fifth-instar nymphs were analyzed using two-dimensional gel protein electrophoresis and mass spectrometry. In adults and fifth-instar nymphs, 127

Discovery and biological characterization of a novel mesoionic insecticide fenmezoditiaz

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 5, Page 2535-2552, May 2025.
Acetylcholine binding protein (AChBP) from the sea slug Aplysia californica was modified using site‐directed mutagenesis to create an insect‐like binding site enabling structure‐based compound design. Fenmezoditiaz is a systemic insecticide with a broad spectrum, lack of cross‐resistance and an additional tool for integrated pest management and ...

The Efficiency of Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus Transmission by the Vector Sogatella furcifera to Different Host Plant Species

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2012
Southern rice black-streaked dwarf disease is a new rice disease that severely affects rice production in South China. To understand transmission capacity of the vector Sogatella furcifera to Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus (SRBSDV) among ...

Differential diurnal population density ratios of wet rice arthropods in Malaysia [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The varying population density of wet rice arthropods in a 24-h period, at two different locations, was monitored. Using one hill as the sampling unit, 22 categories of arthropods were visually counted every 3 h.

Evolutionary‐Distinct Viral Proteins Subvert Rice Broad‐Spectrum Antiviral Immunity Mediated by the RAV15‐MYC2 Module

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 12, March 27, 2025.
Diverse viruses employ various pathogenicity strategies to inhibit host antiviral defense for successful infection. However, the pathogenic mechanisms conserved among different viruses have rarely been studied. This discovery unveils a broad‐spectrum counter‐defense strategy across evolutionarily distinct viral proteins, highlighting a new strategy for
