Zinc Exposure Causes Disulfidptosis to Induce Miscarriage by Up‐Regulating GATA1/METTL1/SLC7A11 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zn exposure up‐regulates GATA1, promoting GATA1‐mediated METTL1 and SLC7A11 transcription. It also enhances METTL1‐mediated m7G modification on SLC7A11 mRNA, increasing SLC7A11 mRNA stability. Ultimately, Zn exposure up‐regulates SLC7A11 at both transcriptional and post‐transcriptional levels, causing disulfidptosis. Knockdown of murine Slc7a11, Gata1,

Canagliflozin Alleviates Diabetic Glomerular Endothelial Injury via Melibiose in a Microbiota‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

Soil testing for acidity

open access: yes, 1984
One of the most important aspects of the soil acidity research programme is the accurate analysis of soil and plant materials. A soil acidity problem cannot be simply diagnosed with one test.

Soil Acidity Formation and its Amelioration Methods in Ethiopia: A Review

open access: yes, 2022
Soil acidification is one of the problems of chemical soil degradation affecting soil productivity in the world. This paper attempts to explain the concept of soil acidification, the causes of soil acidification and the methods to remedy it. Farmers need

Cross Kingdom Metabolic Engineering Paradigm Elevating Sustainable Protein Production

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Confronting the dual crisis of escalating global protein demand and unsustainable agriculture necessitates transformative solutions. Here, we pioneer evolutionary insights from maize nitrogen optimization via asparagine synthetase (ASNS) to rewire metabolism in Pichia pastoris.

Soil acidity stress: A faba bean (Vicia faba L.) cultivation challenge in Ethiopia, mitigation, and future perspectives

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences & Environment
Soil acidity is among the most important abiotic stresses globally constraining agricultural land and crop productivity. Globally, about 30%–40% of total arable land is under the influence of acidic soil. In Ethiopia, approximately 43% of arable land and

Model-based approach for measurement of basic soil nutrient [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The article presents a model-based approach for measuring basic soil nutrients. The model-based approach consists of two main phases: data collection using sensor systems and data pre-processing and analysis.

Multi‐Enzyme Mimetic Molybdenum Nitride Nanozymes Reshape Subgingival Microenvironment for Synergistic Periodontitis Therapy via ROS Regulation and Microbiome Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Periodontitis, a chronic inflammatory disease initiated and sustained by plaque microorganisms and host immune response, remains an intractable oral disease and a leading cause of tooth loss worldwide. Traditional mechanical debridement and adjunctive antibiotic or antiseptic therapy often shows limited efficacy due to the complex anatomical ...

Amelioration of Soil Acidity in Ferralsols of Central Uganda

open access: yes, 2023
Soil acidity is one of the major constraints limiting crop productivity in Central Uganda. Thus, the ideal soil pH for crop production ranges from 5.5 to 6.8, but in Central Uganda, crops are believed to be cultivated in soils with pH below these ranges.
