Near infrared spectroscopy for soil bulk density assessment

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Soil Science, 2009
Soil bulk density values are needed to convert organic carbon content to mass of organic carbon per unit area. However, field sampling and measurement of soil bulk density are labour‐intensive, costly and tedious. Near‐infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) is a physically non‐destructive, rapid, reproducible and low‐cost method ...

Melt Electrowriting High Resolution Poly(ethylene‐co‐vinyl acetate) Scaffolds for Soft Tissue Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work pioneers melt electrowriting (MEW) of polyethylene vinyl acetate (PEVA) to fabricate ultra‐compliant, high‐resolution scaffolds. By integrating microscale precision with soft tissue‐like biomechanics, PEVA overcomes stiffness‐driven limitations of conventional MEW polymers, establishing a mechanically biomimetic platform for soft tissue ...

Evaluation of the Dual Impact of Nanotechnologies on Health and Environment Through Alternative Bridging Models

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores how alternative invertebrate and small‐vertebrate models advance the evaluation of nanomaterials across medicine and environmental science. By bridging cellular and organismal levels, these models enable integrated assessment of toxicity, biodistribution, and therapeutic performance.

Self‐Oscillating Helix Showing Amplified Winding and Unwinding Motions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The hydrogel helix exhibits autonomous oscillation synchronized with the Ru(bpy)32+/3+ redox cycle in the Belousov–Zhabotinsky reaction. Periodic winding–unwinding accompanies magnified motion along one direction within the gel phase. ABSTRACT Helical architectures in nature amplify motion via winding–unwinding.
