A Hybrid Fuzzy–Support Vector Machine Framework for Real‐Time Dust Detection and Thermal Mapping in Photovoltaic Panels

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
A hybrid Fuzzy–SVM framework for real‐time dust detection and thermal mapping in PV panels. ABSTRACT Dust accumulation significantly degrades the energy output of photovoltaic (PV) panels, particularly in arid and semi‐arid regions. While existing studies have separately explored image‐based dust detection, environmental modeling, and machine learning (

Hyperspectral Imaging Combined With Image Fusion Features and Machine Learning to Discriminate Different Origins, Grades, and Shelf‐Life of Oranges

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
This study verified that it is feasible to distinguish oranges of different origins, grades and shelf lives by using hyperspectral technology. It covers spectral, image and graph technologies, as well as machine learning and deep learning models. ABSTRACT This study reports the first application of hyperspectral feature fusion technology combined with ...

Comparative Evaluation of GLDAS, ESA CCI SM and SMAP Soil Moisture with in situ Measurements (Case Study: Lorestan Province)

open access: yesمحیط زیست و مهندسی آب, 2023
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of estimated soil moisture data obtained from the GLDAS, ESA and SMAP sensor databases with the observed data of the Silakhor Agricultural Meteorological Station to investigate the spatial and temporal variation of soil moisture in Lorestan province. The data used in this research include the soil

Seasonal drivers of plant–soil–microbial community structure and functions in Western Himalayan grasslands, Pakistan

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
Plant species richness was greater in summer in both alpine and subalpine grassland ecosystems. Soil moisture demonstrates significant positive correlations with soil organic carbon and total nitrogen across seasonal periods. Microbial α‐diversity peaks during summer but maintains functional stability across seasons.

Farmer‐Led Strategies for Water Conservation in the Urmia Lake Basin, Iran

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines the urgent issues of water scarcity and limited farmer livelihoods in the Urmia Lake basin. To address these challenges, we apply the Governance, Autonomy, Integration, and Needs orientation (GAIN) methodology. Our participatory approach revealed that farmers prioritised actionable measures for water management, yield ...

Soil Texture, Soil Moisture, and Sentinel-1 Backscattering: Towards the Retrieval of Field-Scale Soil Hydrological Properties

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Monitoring soil moisture (SM) on individual crop fields is of great interest for agricultural applications. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems such as Sentinel-1 provide sensitivity to surface SM at a spatial resolution compatible with crop-field ...

Impact of Irrigation Scheduling on Corn Yield and Water Balance in Sandy Soils of Central Minnesota Using the EPIC Model.

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Efficient irrigation scheduling is critical in sandy soils to achieve optimum yield and maximum net benefit with minimum environmental concerns. The Environmental Policy Integrated Climate (EPIC) model was used to study the impacts of autoirrigation of corn on crop yield and soil water balance during 2019–2021 at −300 and −450 kPa for loamy ...

Post‐Processed CMIP6 Climate Projections for Hydro‐Environmental Risk Assessment in the Middle East and Central Asia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Estimating water resources is important for regional climate impact analysis and risk estimation. The Middle East and Central Asia have largely reached the limit of sustainably usable water across their river basins and ecosystems. Strategies designed to mitigate environmental risks require a reliable estimation of water availability trends.
