Salinization Decreases Soil Phosphorus Availability and Plant Productivity in Terrestrial Ecosystems
Soil phosphorus (P) availability is crucial for plant productivity, and salinization is generally expected to reduce plant productivity in global terrestrial ecosystems. However, the response of soil P availability to salinization remains unclear, making

Zinc Exposure Causes Disulfidptosis to Induce Miscarriage by Up‐Regulating GATA1/METTL1/SLC7A11 Axis
Zn exposure up‐regulates GATA1, promoting GATA1‐mediated METTL1 and SLC7A11 transcription. It also enhances METTL1‐mediated m7G modification on SLC7A11 mRNA, increasing SLC7A11 mRNA stability. Ultimately, Zn exposure up‐regulates SLC7A11 at both transcriptional and post‐transcriptional levels, causing disulfidptosis. Knockdown of murine Slc7a11, Gata1,

A Rare Allele of ST5 From Wild Rice Enhances Salt Tolerance in Rice
A novel salt‐tolerance gene ST5W, characterized by a unique 36‐bp promoter insertion, is found exclusively in a small subset of Oryza rufipogon and is absent in cultivated rice. Field trials confirm ST5W significantly enhances rice yield across diverse genetic backgrounds under saline conditions.

Strategies for leaching and agricultural use of saline lands under conditions of water shortage [PDF]
An analysis of the authors' experimental data on land leaching from salinization was carried out. The regularity of specific water consumption for salt leaching is assessed depending on the degree of soil salinization and negative environmental factors ...

Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

GIS-based evaluation and mapping of soil salinization: A case study of Khovos district, Syrdarya province, Uzbekistan [PDF]
Unsustainable agricultural practices, including excessive irrigation and fertilization, lead to soil salinization in arid and semiarid regions. Understanding the spatial patterns of soil salinization is crucial for implementing effective land management ...
