Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.)

Methods in molecular biology (Clifton, N.J.), 2006
Eggplant is an economically important vegetable crop in Asia and Africa, and although it is grown in Europe and the United States, it does not account for a significant percentage of agricultural production. It is susceptible to a number of pathogens and insects, with bacterial and fungal wilts being the most devastating. Attempts to improve resistance

Peroxidases of Solanum melongena leaves

Phytochemistry, 1973
Abstract Three major peroxidases, designated as A , B 2 and B 2 from Solanum melongena leaves have been reported. Peroxidases- A , - B 2 and - B 2 were considered to be true peroxidases on the basis of k 1 : k 4 ratio. The pH optima for the three enzymes were found to be 7·0, 6·0 and 6.0 respectively.
