Aim. The aim of our investigation was determination of allelic condition of resistance gene H1 against the pathotypes Ro1 and Ro4 of golden potato cyst nematode among the Ukrainian and world potato cultivars. Methods. The allelic condition of the TG689 marker was determined by PCR with DNA samples isolated from tubers of potato. Results.

Enhancing microspore embryogenesis in diploid potato (Solanum tuberosum L. ssp. tuberosum) germplasm

open access: yesPlant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture
AbstractDoubled haploidy (DH) technology has been utilized in cultivated tetraploid potato (Solanum tuberosum L. ssp. tuberosum) to accelerate crop improvement; however very little work has been done with the diploid species. Experiments were undertaken to improve microspore embryogenic response in the diploid germplasm.

An RGA-Derived SCAR Marker Linked to PLRV Resistance from Solanum tuberosum ssp. andigena

open access: yesPlant Molecular Biology Reporter, 2013
A resistance gene analog (RGA)-derived sequence-characterized amplified region (SCAR) marker was successfully developed based on sequence homology with disease resistance genes of an AFLP molecular marker tightly linked to the Rl adg gene of Solanum tuberosum ssp. andigena.

Metabolism of Gibberellin A12 and A12-Aldehyde and the Identification of Endogenous Gibberellins in Potato (Solanum tuberosum ssp. Andigena) Shoots

open access: yesJournal of Plant Physiology, 1995
Summary Metabolism of [ 14 C] gibberellin(GA) 12 -aldehyde and [ 14 C]GA 12 in vegetative tissue of potato ( Solanum tuberosum ssp. andigena ) was studied by supplying solutions of these compounds to the base of isolated shoot tips and analyzing the metabolic products by radiodetection after HPLC.

Spontaneous structural rearrangements in Solanum tuberosum ssp. phureja: 1. Chromosome identification at pachytene stage

Euphytica, 1988
Meiosis was studied from pachytene and onwards in two clones of S.t. ssp. phureja. At pachytene the bivalents of S.t. ssp. phureja appeared to be morphologically very similar to those of S.t. ssp. tuberosum cv. Gineke. Cross-shaped quadrivalent configurations at pachytene confirmed the presence of a heterozygous interchange.
