Effects of heavy ions on electron temperatures in the solar corona and solar wind [PDF]

open access: yes
The effects of the reduction in the thermal conductivity due to heavy ions on electron temperatures in the solar corona and solar wind are examined. Large enhancements of heavy ions in the corona appear to be necessary to give appreciable changes in the ...

The Solar Corona

open access: yes
The solar corona is the hot, tenuous outer layer of the Sun’s atmosphere. The coronal plasma is roughly around 1 mega-Kelvin (MK) but can reach temperatures of around 10 MK in certain regions. Due to this high temperature, the plasma in the corona emits electromagnetic radiation predominantly at Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) and X-ray wavelengths.

Why Do Solar Wind Models Get It Wrong? Understanding the Capabilities of Time-dependent Solar Wind Simulations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We explore the capabilities of time-dependent (TD) magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) solar wind simulations with the coupled Wang–Sheeley–Arge (WSA) model of the solar corona and the Grid Agnostic MHD for Extended Research Applications model of the inner ...

Flavonoids as Anxiolytics in Animal Tests: Systematic Review, Meta‐Analysis, and Bibliometrical Analysis

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, Volume 40, Issue 1, Page 77-99, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Flavonoids are natural secondary metabolites of plants with a basic composition derived from polyphenols that can produce a plethora of different neurophysiological effects, some of which are relevant to anxiety disorders. As such, many flavonoids have been evaluated in behavioral screens in preclinical research on anxiolytics.

Sustainable Schools: Changing Society Towards Sustainability

open access: yesSustainable Development, Volume 34, Issue S1, Page 557-571, January 2026.
ABSTRACT A change in mindset has taken place in educational institutions, characterised by a growing awareness of sustainability and environmental aspects. Inspired by the UNESCO Global Action Programme, various ministries have allowed to be certified as a School of Sustainability at different levels, albeit on a voluntary basis and without substantial
