Reference solar irradiance spectra and consequences of their disparities in remote sensing of the ocean colour [PDF]
Satellite ocean colour missions require a standard extraterrestrial solar irradiance spectrum in the visible and near-infrared (NIR) for use in the process of radiometric calibration, atmospheric correction and normalization of water-leaving radiances

Solar total irradiance in cycle 23 [PDF]
The apparently unusual behaviour of the TSI during the most recent minimum of solar activity has been interpreted as evidence against solar surface magnetism as the main driver of the secular change in the TSI. We test claims that the evolution of the solar surface magnetic field does not reproduce the observed TSI in cycle 23.

ABSTRACT Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) can be transformed into hydrogen (H2) through several chemical and catalytic processes, offering a promising route for both waste treatment and clean H2 production. This colorless, flammable, and toxic gas is found abundantly in swamps, volcanoes, hot springs, sewages, other natural gas fields, and even in refineries and

Study of variability metrics for solar irradiance and photovoltaic output
Two variability metrics, i.e., universal variability index (UVI) and natural variability index (NVI) for solar irradiance and PV output are examined in this paper using high resolution irradiance measurement data of a PV farm over three years.

Solar rotational modulations of spectral irradiance and correlations with the variability of total solar irradiance [PDF]
Aims: We characterize the solar rotational modulations of spectral solar irradiance (SSI) and compare them with the corresponding changes of total solar irradiance (TSI). Solar rotational modulations of TSI and SSI at wavelengths between 120 and 1600 nm are identified over one hundred Carrington rotational cycles during 2003–2013.

Multi‐scale Optimization on Interfacial Evaporative Cooling for Photovoltaic Performance Enhancement
This study presents a passive siphon‐driven interfacial evaporative cooling technology for photovoltaics. A multiscale multiphysics model is developed and validated experimentally. Results show that optimizing installation parameters reduces operating temperature by up to 22.3 °C and boosts power efficiency by 8.9%, offering a practical pathway for ...

Measurement and Uncertainty of the Long-Term Total Solar Irradiance
A possible long term trend of the total solar irradiance could be a natural cause for climate variations on Earth. Measurement of the total solar irradiance with space radiometers have started in 1978.

A layered bead‐network wallpaper is designed to modulate the light propagation path, overcoming the color residue limitations of thermochromic components for efficient automatic switching between radiative cooling and solar heating modes. The layered bead‐network wallpaper provides passive, all‐season thermal regulation while offering self‐cleaning and
