The study of solar neutrinos has given a fundamental contribution both to astroparticle and to elementary particle physics, offering an ideal test of solar models and offering at the same time relevant indications on the fundamental interactions among ...

Experimental work with solar neutrinos has illuminated the properties of neutrinos and tested models of how the sun produces its energy. Three experiments continue to take data, and at least seven are in various stages of planning or construction.

Standard Solar Neutrinos [PDF]
An improved standard solar model has been used to calculate the fluxes of standard solar neutrinos. It includes premain sequence evolution, element diffusion, partial ionization effects, and all the possible nuclear reactions between the main elements ...

Solar neutrino physics on the beginning of 2017
This writeup is a review of current hot topics on solar neutrinos. It is based on a talk at the conference “Neutrinos: the quest for a new physics scale”, held at the CERN on March 2017, where the Organizers entrusted me with a discussion of the ...

Borexino Results on Neutrinos from the Sun and Earth
Borexino is a 280-ton liquid scintillator detector located at the Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso in Italy. Since the start of its data-taking in May 2007, it has provided several measurements of low-energy neutrinos from various sources. At the base

We re-examine the neutrino decay solution to the solar neutrino problem in light of the new data from Gallex II and Kamiokande III. We compare the experimental data with the solar models of Bahcall and Pinsonneault and Turck-Chieze and find that neutrino decay is ruled out as a solution to the solar neutrino problem at better than the 98\% c.l.

γ-Ray and ultra-high energy neutrino background suppression due to solar radiation
The Sun emits copious amounts of photons and neutrinos in an approximately spatially isotropic distribution. Diffuse γ-rays and ultra-high energy (UHE) neutrinos from extragalactic sources may subsequently interact and annihilate with the emitted solar ...

The predicted capture rate in the Cl37 experiment for detecting solar neutrinos is calculated using the results of recent nuclear experiments and solar-model investigations. It is shown that additional experiments (e.g., with H2, Li7, B11, or ν-e scattering) are necessary to establish the relative contributions of the proton-proton chain and the CNO ...
