Diagnosing Solar Plasmas from EUV and X-Ray Emission Lines [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1990
The electron density and temperature measurement of solar plasmas from EUV and X-ray emission lines have been briefly discussed. Diagnostic EUV line ratios from MgVI ion and X-ray line ratios from MgVIII and SiX ions have been presented. A brief account of the general methodology for diagnostics of inhomogeneous structures has also been given.

ALEXIS: Recreating the X-Ray Emission from the Full Solar Disk as a Linear Combination of Discrete Regions in the Extreme Ultraviolet and Soft X-Rays

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Despite a wealth of multiwavelength, spatially resolved, time-domain solar activity data, an accurate and complete temporospatial solar flare census is unavailable, which impedes our understanding of the physics of flare production.

Solar Flare Doppler Blueshifted Soft X‐Ray Emission and Hard X‐Ray Bursts

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2001
Hard X-ray emission and the dynamics of soft X-ray emitting plasma are among the most immediate manifestations of solar flare energy release. To understand better the early impulsive phase of solar flare energy release, we have examined Ca XIX and Fe XXV soft X-ray resonance line spectra that exhibit strong blue-wing asymmetries from 32 flares.

Relation of Microwave Emission to X-Ray Emission from Solar Flares [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1975
Recent observations of impulsive microwave and hard X-ray emissions during the early phase of the flares are briefly reviewed in order to deduce the dynamics of energetic electrons consistently from two view points of the microwaves and X-rays. An emphasis is put on the necessity of distinction between temporal and spatial variations so far confused in

Relationship of Soft X–Ray caused from Solar Flares and Solar Energetic Particles at Maximum of Solar cycle 24

open access: yesمجلة علوم ذي قار, 2019
In the current research we studied solar flares and their associated interactions of solar energetic particles (SEPs) and productive relationship with X-rays generated in these blasts.

Spatially Resolved Oscillations of a Flare Looptop X-Ray Source

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
The looptop region in solar flares is a crucial site to understand the physical processes of magnetic reconnection and particle acceleration. Here, we report novel details of a flare looptop X-ray source that is associated with electron acceleration. The

Can Emission Measure Distributions Derived from Extreme-ultraviolet Images Accurately Constrain High-temperature Plasma?

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Measuring the relative amount of high-temperature, low emission measure (EM) plasma is considered to be a smoking-gun observation to constrain the frequency of plasma heating in coronal structures.

Investigating the Soft X-Ray Spectra of Solar Flare Onsets

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
In this study, we present the analysis of six solar flare events that occurred in 2022, using new data from the third-generation Miniature X-Ray Solar Spectrometer, also known as the Dual-zone Aperture X-ray Solar Spectrometer (DAXSS).

Thermal Evolution of an Active Region Through Quiet and Flaring Phases as Observed by NuSTAR, XRT, and AIA

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Solar active regions (ARs) contain a broad range of temperatures, with the thermal plasma distribution often observed to peak in the few millions of kelvin.
