Graded Metallopolymer Structures with Shape‐Memory Abilities via DLP‐Based 3D‐Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents the digital light processing (DLP) based 3D printing of graded metallopolymers featuring shape‐memory abilities. The permanent shape can be recovered in two distinct steps with excellent rates. The obtained graded prints range from simple rod‐like structures to complex hollow materials.

Covalent Functionalization of 2D Semiconductors: A Roadmap to Advanced Electronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Review presents recent advances in the covalent functionalization strategies for two‐dimensional semiconductors and their implementation in modern technologies. Layered materials are modified through diverse molecular chemistries (e.g., thiols, diazonium salts, alkyl halides, and electron‐deficient species) to tailor their surface properties ...

Soil management and mulching for weed control in cowpea

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Tropical, 2018
More efficient weed control managements can be achieved through different strategies, given that the population of these plants changes according to the system used. This study aimed at assessing solarization methods associated with different mulches for

Soil Solarization for Weed Management in U.A.E.

open access: yes, 1993
Field studies were conducted in 1991 and 1992 at the Faculty Farm of the U.A.E. Univ., Al-Ain, to evaluate the effectiveness of soil solarization for weed management in naturally infested plots of lettuce, and on subsequent planting of garlic ...

Trials Evaluating Solarization and Tarping for Improved Stale Seedbed Preparation in the Northeast USA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Stale seedbeds are commonly used by organic vegetable farmers to reduce in-season weed density. The primary purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of soil solarization (clear plastic) with subsequent flaming for stale seedbed preparation.

An Adaptive Inhibitory WSe2 Transistor for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Image Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional retinomorphic devices typically require deliberate gate‐bias tuning for each illumination condition. In this paper, we demonstrate an adaptive inhibitory WSe2 transistor that uses photo‐induced regime shift between the subthreshold and accumulation modes to achieve decision‐free, intensity‐adaptive image processing within a single pixel ...

Forward‐Biased Perovskite Photodiodes for In‐Sensor Optical Change Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A forward‐biased perovskite photodiode is introduced as an in‐sensor analog preprocessing unit that uses current balancing between photocurrent and injection current to generate optical changes relative to programmable optical reference levels. The device directly converts reference‐relative optical changes into bipolar current signals, enabling sensor‐

Preliminary study on non-chemical management factors for bulb mite Rhizoglyphus robini (Acari: Acaridae) control in the saffron crop

open access: yesJournal of Crop Protection, 2020
Saffron is the most expensive agricultural product and like other products, is affected by some limiting factors, including soil pests such as bulb mite Rhizoglyphus robini Claparede (Acari: Acaridae). Due to its polyphagous habit, it remains in the soil

Blue Upconversion Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes Achieving 1000 cd m−2 With an Operating Voltage of 2.7 V by Suppressing Interfacial Exciton Quenching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A triplet‐blocking layer controls triplet exciton dynamics in blue upconversion OLEDs. The layer keeps charge transfer (CT)‐generated triplet excitons inside the triplet‐triplet annihilation (TTA) host, suppresses anode‐side interfacial quenching, and increases the steady‐state triplet population.
