Self-Similar Inverse Semigroups from Wieler Solenoids [PDF]
Wieler showed that every irreducible Smale space with totally disconnected local stable sets is an inverse limit system, called a Wieler solenoid. We study self-similar inverse semigroups defined by s-resolving factor maps of Wieler solenoids.

Three-dimensional, soft magnetic-cored solenoids via multi-material extrusion [PDF]
This study reports fully 3D-printed, three-dimensional, soft magnetic-cored solenoids that generate three times the largest magnetic fields previously reported from 3D-printed solenoids.

A weak solenoid is a foliated space defined as the inverse limit of finite coverings of a closed compact manifold M M . The monodromy of a weak solenoid defines an equicontinuous minimal action on a Cantor space X X by the fundamental group G G of M M . The discriminant group of this

Emittance control in rf cavities and solenoids [PDF]
We study emittance growth for transport of uniform and Gaussian beams of particles in rf cavities and solenoids and show analytically its dependence on initial beam parameters.

Morita Equivalence of Irrational Noncommutative Solenoids [PDF]
In a series of three papers [17, 15, 16], Latr´emoli`ere and Packer introduced a family of twisted group C*-algebras on-algebras on Z [1/p] × Z [1/p], where Z [1/p] = {j/pk : j ∈ Z, k ∈ N} is the additive group of the ring of ...

Hausdorff Dimension and Topological Entropies of a Solenoid
The purpose of this paper is to elucidate the interrelations between three essentially different concepts: solenoids, topological entropy, and Hausdorff dimension.

Spray Drying of Food Suspensions: Upgrading Capabilities [PDF]
Spray drying is currently used to obtain powder products from suspensions. It is considered the most effective type of drying for such media. The complexity of the drying process is associated with thermal destruction of components, which degrades the ...

Hybrid Solenoids Based on Magnetic Shape Memory Alloys
The mobility of today and tomorrow is characterized by technological change and new challenges in drive concepts such as electric or hydrogen vehicles. Abolishing conventional combustion engines creates even more need for switching or valve technology in

On endomorphisms of a solenoid [PDF]
Geometrically simple Bernoulli generators are constructed for certain ergodic endomorphisms of solenoids. An arbitrary ergodic solenoidal group automorphism is obtained as the limit of a sequence of such Bernoulli factors and hence, by a theorem of D. S. Ornstein, must be measure-theoretically isomorphic to a Bernoulli shift.

Homology for one-dimensional solenoids [PDF]
Smale spaces are a particular class of hyperbolic topological dynamical systems, defined by David Ruelle. The definition was introduced to give an axiomatic description of the dynamical properties of Smale's Axiom A systems when restricted to a basic set.
