Kilowatt average power 100 J-level diode pumped solid state laser

open access: yesOptica, 2017
We report efficient and stable operation of the first multi-joule diode pumped solid state laser delivering 1 kW average power in 105 J, 10 ns pulses at 10 Hz, confirming the power scalability of multi-slab cryogenic gas-cooled amplifier technology.

Solid-State Lasers [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics, 2018
Single crystals or glasses that are doped with light emitting atoms are used as the gain medium in solid-state lasers. In crystals, the atoms exist in the form of ions. Aside from conventional rods and slabs with lengths of several cm, technologies based on disks or fibers with thicknesses, respectively diameters of 10 to 100 µm become more and more ...

Optimizing Self-Seeded Perfluorooctane SBS Compressor Configurations to Achieve ~90 ps High-Energy Pulses

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
Three different stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) configurations in perfluorooctane were experimentally compared to achieve the ultimate compression of ~1.1 ns pulses from a commercially available Nd:YAG mini-laser.

Amplification of Supercontinuum Seed Pulses at ~1078–1355 nm by Cascade Rotational SRS in Compressed Hydrogen

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Multiple higher-order Stokes of rotational stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in compressed hydrogen covered the wavelength range from ~1.1 µm to ~1.4 µm using ~1.2 ps pump pulses from a Yb:YAG laser.

A Study of the Characteristics of Plasma Generated by Infrared Pulse Laser-Induced Fused Silica

open access: yesCrystals, 2021
When high energy infrared laser pulses are incident on fused silica, the surface of the fused silica is damaged and a laser-induced plasma is produced.

Synthesis of Adjacent Stokes Spectra in a Two-Stage Transient Stimulated Raman Chirped-Pulse Amplifier

open access: yesCrystals, 2022
The synthesis of adjacent overlapped Stokes spectra in two stages of a transient stimulated Raman chirped-pulse amplifier, tuned respectively to the vibrational modes at 901 and 767 cm−1 of a potassium gadolinium tungstate [KGd(WO4)2] crystal, is ...
