Composite Dipolar Recoupling: Anisotropy Compensated Coherence Transfer in Solid-State NMR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The efficiency of dipole-dipole coupling driven coherence transfer experiments in solid-state NMR spectroscopy of powder samples is limited by dispersion of the orientation of the internuclear vectors relative to the external magnetic field.

A 29Si, 1H, and 13C Solid-State NMR Study on the Surface Species of Various Depolymerized Organosiloxanes at Silica Surface

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2019
Three poly(organosiloxanes) (hydromethyl-, dimethyl-, and epoxymethylsiloxane) of different chain lengths and pendant groups and their mixtures of dimethyl (DMC) or diethyl carbonates (DEC) were applied in the modification of fumed silica nanoparticles ...

Reorientational Dynamics and Solid-Phase Transformation of Ammonium Dicyanamide into Dicyandiamide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The reorientational dynamics of ammonium dicyanamide ND4[N(C≡N)2] and the kinetics as well as the mechanism of the solid-state isomerization reaction from ammonium dicyanamide into dicyandiamide (N≡C-N=C(NH2)2) was studied by means of 2H and 14N solid ...

Pseudo-resonance structures in chiral alcohols and amines and their possible aggregation states

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2022
We now report that some chiral compounds, like alcohols, which are not sterically hindered atropisomers nor epimer mixtures, exhibit two sets of simultaneous NMR spectra in CDCl3.

Hydrogen-bonded liquid crystals with broad-range blue phases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We report a modular supramolecular approach for the investigation of chirality induction in hydrogen-bonded liquid crystals. An exceptionally broad blue phase with a temperature range of 25 °C was found, which enabled its structural investigation by ...

Solid-, Solution-, and Gas-state NMR Monitoring of 13C-Cellulose Degradation in an Anaerobic Microbial Ecosystem

open access: yesMolecules, 2013
Anaerobic digestion of biomacromolecules in various microbial ecosystems is influenced by the variations in types, qualities, and quantities of chemical components.

The Solid State \u3csup\u3e13\u3c/sup\u3eC-NMR Spectra of Some Carbides [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
The utility of NMR spectroscopy to the study of liquids or solids dissolved in liquids is well known. This technique has been used infrequently to studies in the solid state[I,2]. Work has been done on diamond, graphite and coa113-6].

Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

Magic angle spinning (MAS) NMR linewidths in the presence of solid-state dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In solid-state NMR, the magic angle spinning (MAS) technique fails to suppress anisotropic spin interactions fully if reorientational dynamics are present, resulting in a decay of the rotational-echo train in the time-domain signal. We show that a simple

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,
