Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Behavior of non-prismatic RC beams with conventional steel and green GFRP rebars for sustainable infrastructure

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
This study presents an experimental and finite element analysis of reinforced concrete beams with solid, hollow, prismatic, or non-prismatic sections. In the first part, a total of six beams were tested under four-point monotonic bending. The test matrix

Functionally Gradient Material Design and Modeling Using Hypertexture for Solid Freeform Fabrication [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
SFF technologies have the potential to become manufacturing process that are capable of producing parts that have not been feasible by other techniques. The fabrication of Functionally Gradient Material (FGM) is one of the possible candidate.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Comparison of numerical models for hydroforming of X-shapes [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Methods in Materials Science, 2007
Numerical modeling has proved to be a powerful tool for development of hydroforming processes. There have been used various numerical models but it has been difficult to choose a model which would be good enough for a specific application.

Dense suspension of solid particles as a new heat transfer fluid for concentrated solar thermal plants: on-sun proof of concept [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper demonstrates the capacity of dense suspensions of solid particles to transfer concentrated solar power from a tubular receiver to an energy conversion process by acting as a heat transfer fluid.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...
