Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

A catalytic and solid state study of lanthanum doped ceria [PDF]

open access: yes
In this study of the catalytic oxidation of CO and CH4 over lanthanum doped ceria, it is demonstrated that dopant concentration is the dominant factor in the variation in catalytic properties.

The First Vopo4·2h2o Intercalation Compound Synthesized Through A Solid-state Reaction At Room Temperature

open access: yes, 2015
This communication reports the first intercalation into VOPO4·2H2O performed through a solid-state reaction at room temperature. Ethyleneurea, EU (2-imidazolidone) was intercalated into the oxovanadium phosphate by grinding in a mortar stoichiometric ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Origin of flat bands and non-trivial topology in coupled kagome lattices

open access: yesCommunications Physics
The geometric frustration inherent in the kagome lattice gives rise to exotic electronic structures—combining Dirac dispersions, van Hove singularities, and flat bands.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

High pressure solid state chemistry of C-N-H and Ti-N systems

open access: yes, 2010
This thesis presents the use of molecular precursors for the synthesis of solid-state materials through the application of extreme conditions. The main tool for the exploration of these materials was the diamond anvil cell which generated static ...
