Back diffusion of manganese during solidification of carbon steels

open access: yes, 2006
In this study, back diffusion of manganese in solid between secondary arms in the ternary Fe - 1.6 wt % Mn - 0.1, 0.21, 0.4 and 0.75 wt % C alloys was investigated in unidirectionally solidified quenched specimens which solidified in the range of 0.25 K ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

MEASUREMENT OF DENDRITE GROWTH ON Al-Ni ALLOYS IN REDUCED GRAVITY

open access: yes, 2009
It is well known that the growth kinetics in metallic melts controls microstructure evolution. If the melt is cooled below its equilibrium melting temperature prior to solidification, the state of a metastable undercooled melt is created.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Optimization of directional energy deposition forming process of high-strength aluminum alloy based on laser mode control

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng
Due to the low boiling points of the main constituents of 7075 aluminum alloy and the high surface tension gradient of the molten alloy, combined with the uneven energy distribution of the circular Gaussian (CG) laser beam spot commonly used in directed ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Finite Element Simulation-Driven Geometric Compensation for an LPBF-Fabricated Winged Annular Funnel Structure

open access: yesJournal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing
Geometric distortion remains a major obstacle to achieving high dimensional accuracy in laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), especially for complex thin-walled components with heterogeneous structural constraint.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Orientation control of multiple single crystal blades using a novel high-throughput mold via seeding-grain selection technique

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
As the increasing demand for high temperature performance of the Ni-based single crystal blades, the orientation consistency of the blades has become more and more important.

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...
