Varactor diode assembly with low parasitic reactances [PDF]
Development of varactor diode assembly overcomes parasitic reactances of conventional varactor packages. In specially constructed assembly very high idler-frequency to signal-frequency ratios are used to obtain low-noise operation over maximum ...

Extraction of lateral eigenmode properties in thin film bulk acoustic wave resonator from interferometric measurements [PDF]
A heterodyne laser interferometer is used to study acoustic wave fields excited in a 1.8 GHz AlN thin film bulk acoustic waveresonator. The electrical response of the resonator exhibits a strong thickness resonance onto which spurious modes, caused by ...

Kinetic Regimes of Hydrogen Absorption in Thin Films
Knowledge of the hydrogen incorporation mechanisms in thin layers in relation to the amount absorbed is essential to design coatings and devices compatible with hydrogen‐based technologies. A combination of simultaneous in situ methods gives detailed insight into the hydrogenation of a prototypical hydrogen absorber layer in a time‐dependent manner ...

62.6 GHz ScAlN Solidly Mounted Acoustic Resonators
We demonstrate a record-high 62.6 GHz solidly mounted acoustic resonator (SMR) incorporating a 67.6 nm scandium aluminum nitride (Sc0.3Al0.7N) piezoelectric layer on a 40 nm buried platinum (Pt) bottom electrode, positioned above an acoustic Bragg reflector composed of alternating SiO2 (28.2 nm) and Ta2O5 (24.3 nm) layers in 8.5 pairs.

A monolayer graphene/phosphoric‐acid mixed proton‐electron conducting membrane combines proton‐conducting nanoconfined acid channels with electron‐conducting graphene nanosheets for efficient high‐temperature hydrogen purification. The membrane achieves nearly 100% H2/CO2 selectivity and 69 GPU hydrogen permeance at 250°C, arising from synergistic ...

Ferroelectric film bulk acoustic wave resonators for liquid viscosity sensing [PDF]
A concept of accurate liquid viscosity sensing, using bulk acoustic wave (BAW) resonators, is proposed. The proposed BAW resonators use thin ferroelectric films with the dc field induced piezoelectric effect allowing for generation of pure longitudinal ...

Coagulative granular hydrogels are composed of packed thrombin‐functionalized microgels that catalyze the conversion of fibrinogen into a secondary fibrin network, filling the interstitial voids. This bio‐inspired approach stabilizes the biomaterial to match the robustness of bulk hydrogels without compromising injectability, mimicking the initial ...

Correlations between microstructure and Q-factor of tunable thin film bulk acoustic wave resonators [PDF]
Correlations between microstructure and Q-factor of tunable solidly mounted Ba(0.25)Sr(0.75)TiO(3) (BSTO) thin film bulk acoustic wave resonators are studied using analysis of test structures prepared at different growth temperatures of the BSTO films ...

The repair and regeneration of brain tissue faces both biological and technical challenges. Injectable bioscaffolds offer new opportunities to stimulate tissue regrowth in the brain by recruiting neural stem cells. Here, the translational issues are reviewed that need to be address to advance this promising new therapeutic approach from the bench to ...
