Soluble factors and solid phases

Current Biology, 1992
Macromolecules are constantly being transported between nucleus and cytoplasm in a selective, signal- dependent manner. This dynamic flux consists of the unidirectional transport of certain proteins and RNA molecules, and the bidirectional transport or ‘shuttling’ of other proteins and ribonucleoprotein particles.

Solid Solubility in Laser Cladding

JOM, 1987
Laser cladding techniques have recently enjoyed attention in preparing in-situ novel surface clad alloys with extended solid solution. Mass transport involved in this process is rather intriguing since it plays the major role in producing new materials without being restricted by equilibrium phase diagram.

Solubility of solids in liquids: one-parameter solubility equation

Fluid Phase Equilibria, 1986
Abstract Buchowski, H. and Khiat, A., 1986. Solubility of solids in liquids: one-parameter solubility equation. Fluid Phase Equilibria, 25: 273–278. A new equation for solubility curves has been established based on the variation of vapour pressure over saturated solutions.

Molecular Characteristics for Solid-State Limited Solubility

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2008
Solubility and solid-state characteristics were determined and multivariate data analysis was used to deduce structural features important for solid-state limited solubility of marketed drugs. Molecules with extended ring structures and large conjugated systems were less soluble, indicating that structural features related to rigidity and aromaticity ...

Solubility advantage from amorphous etoricoxib solid dispersions

Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, 2013
This study aimed to evaluate kinetic solubility advantage of amorphous etoricoxib solid dispersions prepared with three water soluble polymers and correlate it with solid state and supersaturated drug solution stabilization potential of these polymers.Amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs) of etoricoxib were prepared with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyvinyl

The solubility of C in solid Cu

Scripta Materialia, 2004
Abstract The solubility of C in solid Cu was determined in the temperature range 1143–1293 K. Layers of C were vapour deposited onto high-purity Cu slices, which were annealed for 72 and 240 h at different temperatures. The C content in the samples was determined by means of combustion analysis.

Fruit Quality and Soluble Solids

1990
Grape maturity assessment as well as fruit quality is critical to the successful production of palatable wines. Part of the grower’s payment for the fruit often is based upon delivery of grapes at agreed-upon parameters; so care must be taken in the maturity monitoring process.

Soluble polydiacetylenes: molecular properties and solid state organization

Synthetic Metals, 2001
Abstract The solution properties of a novel soluble polydiacetylene, poly[1,6-bis(3,6-dihexadecyl- N -carbazolyl)-2,4-hexadiyne] (polyDCHD-HS), have been investigated by use of spectroscopic (UV–VIS absorption, fluorescence and FT-Raman) and light scattering techniques in benzene and toluene. The unique spectroscopic and molecular properties of these
