Integrated Analysis of mRNA and miRNA Expression Profiles in the Ovary of Oryctolagus cuniculus in Response to Gonadotrophic Stimulation

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2019
Molecular mechanisms responsible for gonadotrophic control of ovarian follicle development and ovulation have not been fully delineated. In this study, prepubertal female rabbits were subjected to a combined PMSG/hCG treatment for the induction of ...

Targeting the HSPA8‐CMA‐ATP6V1A Axis Triggers Lysosomal Hyperacidification and Catastrophic Vacuolation in Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our experimental evidence supports a model in which ALO targets the HSPA8‐CMA‐ATP6V1A axis to induce lysosomal hyperacidification and initiate osmotic and lipidomic stress. These changes are associated with LMP and loss of lysosomal integrity in prostate cancer cells.

Hepatic ferroptosis induced by Clonorchis sinensis exacerbates liver fibrosis.

open access: yesPLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases
Clonorchis sinensis (C. sinensis) is a food-borne zoonotic parasite link to liver fibrosis and cholangiocarcinoma. Limited understanding of its mechanisms in causing liver fibrosis has impeded therapeutic advances for C.

Carnosic acid enhances cisplatin sensitivity and suppresses gastric cancer progression via the TP53/SLC7A11/ALOX12 axis

open access: yesHereditas
Background Gastric cancer (GC) remains a significant global health challenge due to its high mortality and frequent resistance to chemotherapy drugs like cisplatin (DDP). Carnosic acid (CA), a phenolic diterpene, exhibits potential anti-cancer properties.

Ursolic Acid Alleviates Orchitis via Modulating Ferroptosis in Peritubular Myoid Cells of Testis

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Ursolic acid modulates key ferroptosis‐related pathways in the peritubular myoid cells of the testis in forest musk deer. ABSTRACT Chronic stress adversely affects reproductive health, increasing susceptibility to pathologies such as orchitis. Additionally, the maintenance of iron homeostasis is essential for preserving the function of the testicles ...

Recent Advances in Virus–Host Interactions, Antiviral Bioactive Compounds, and Breeding for Disease Resistance of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Basic research on the PEDV infection cycle and virus–host interactions advances the development of anti‐PEDV drugs and disease‐resistant breeding and helps strengthen disease prevention and control while reducing economic losses in the swine industry.

Immunoinformatic-Based Mapping of Cytotoxic T-Cell Epitopes of Overexpressed Proteins in Four High-mortality Cancers Determined Through Gene Expression Analysis

open access: yesBiomedical and Biotechnology Research Journal
Background: Pancreatic, liver, colorectal, and lung cancer are some of the cancers with the highest mortality rates and the poorest prognosis. The discovery of cytotoxic T-cell (CD8+) epitopes in tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) common to these four ...

Effect of developmental changes on pharmacokinetics of drugs used in the treatment of infant acute lymphoblastic leukaemia—A comprehensive review

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
While the event‐free survival (EFS) of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) has improved greatly in the last decades, the EFS for patients diagnosed with ALL before the age of one is still under 50%. This outcome further decreases when infants have a rearrangement in the gene encoding histone‐lysine N‐methyltransferase 2A (KMT2A ...

Luteolin attenuates CCl4-induced hepatic injury by inhibiting ferroptosis via SLC7A11

open access: yesBMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies
Background Luteolin (3,4,5,7-tetrahydroxy flavone) is reported to strongly protect from acute carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) -induced liver injury or fibrosis. Ferroptosis can be induced by hepatic injury, and contributes to liver fibrosis development.

YAP/Nrf2 suppresses ferroptosis to alleviate acute lung injury induced by intestinal ischemia/reperfusion

open access: yesRedox Biology
Intestinal ischemia reperfusion (II/R) injury is a common critical disease with high morbidity and mortality. The mechanism of II/R-induced acute lung injury (ALI) is not fully elucidated.
