On the surjectivity conditions of a linear functional differential operator of the second order

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations
Linear second-order functional differential equations without the Volterra condition are studied. Sufficient conditions for the everywhere solvability of the equation (surjectivity of the corresponding functional differential operator) are obtained in ...

Solvability of multivariate interpolation

open access: yesJournal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik (Crelles Journal), 1989
An ordinary polynomial interpolation scheme is described by the admissible polynomials \(P(x)=\sum_{i\in S}a_ ix^ i\), \(x=(x_ 1,...,x_ s)\), \(i=(i_ 1,...,i_ s)\), \(s\geq 2\), where S is a lower set of lattice points i, and by the knot sets \(A_ q\subset S\), \(q=1,...,m\), which give the orders \(\alpha \in A_ q\) of the derivatives \(\partial P ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Periodic descriptor systems: Solvability and conditionability

open access: yes, 1999
The authors consider discrete-time linear periodic descriptor systems and study the concepts of solvability and conditionability, introduced by Luenberger. They prove that solvability is equivalent to conditionability, just as in the time-invariant case.

Analysis Methods Of The Insolvency Risk [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Română de Statistică, 2010
A company’s capacity to be solvent/able* – to defeat the insolvencyrisk, has an important position within the System of financial-patrimonial analysis. Any problem regarding the payment of obligatory taxes generates prejudice and requires urgent solving.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

The question of solvability

open access: yes, 2003
We give a proof of the Nirenberg-Treves conjecture: that local solvability of principal type pseudodifferential operators is equivalent to condition (Psi).

Solvable and Nilpotent Structures

open access: yesPublications of the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, 1988
Summary: In Arch. Math. Logic 27, No.2, 193-197 (1988; Zbl 0661.03026), we have proven that every \(non\)-\(\aleph_ 1\)-categorical connected nilpotent group of finite Morley rank has the center Z(G) with RM(Z(G))\(\geq 2\). If a connected nilpotent group has finite Morley rank, then it is easy to see that the center is infinite.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...
