Solvent‐Free Synthesis of Microparticles on Superamphiphobic Surfaces
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2013Polymeric and composite microspheres can be synthesized without solvents or process liquids by using superamphiphobic surfaces. In this method, the repellency of superamphiphobic layers to monomers and polymer melts and the extremely low adhesion to particles are taken advantage of.

For reasons of economy and pollution, solvent-free methods are of great interest in order to modernize classical procedures making them more clean, safe and easy to perform. Reactions on solid mineral supports, reactions without any solvent/support or catalyst, and solid-liquid phase transfer catalysis can be thus employed with noticeable increases in ...

Solvent-free synthesis of phthalocyanines
Journal of Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines, 2003Clean and efficient microwave assissted solid phase cyclocondensation of various substituted phthalic anhydrides, phthalic acids, phthalimide and phthalonitrile with urea in the presence of basic alumina forms free-base phthalocyanines in 15-79% yields with and without ammonium molybdate as a catalyst.

Solvent-Free Synthesis of Chalcones
Journal of Chemical Education, 2004The solvent-free synthesis of 20 chalcones was carried out by grinding the benzaldehyde (unsubstituted, 4-methyl, 4-methoxy, 3-chloro, or 4-chloro) and the acetophenone (unsubstituted, 4-methyl, 4-bromo, or 4-methoxy) in the presence of solid sodium hydroxide with a mortar and pestle.
