Porous titanium alloy/hydroxyapatite composite using powder compaction route

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering and Sciences, 2017
Titanium alloys (Ti6Al4V) and hydroxyapatite (HA) are widely used as implant materials. Ti6Al4V has good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, whereas HA has excellent biocompatibility but its mechanical properties are weak.

Solvent Debinding of Injection Molded Metal Powder with use of N-Metylpyrrolidone.

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society of Powder and Powder Metallurgy, 1995
Solvent debinding of injection molded metal powder by organic solvents of N-Metylprrolidone(NMP, f.p.91.0°C) was studied. The organic binder was composed of polyplopylene, paraffin wax(Pwax), urethane wax(Uwax) and acrylic wax(Awax). The Uwax was suitable for rapid solvent debinding with NMP. NMP had excelent properties that was high flashing point, low

In situ dimensional changes of powder injection-molded compacts during solvent debinding [PDF]

open access: yesActa Materialia, 1998
Defects such as cracking, slumping, and sagging are frequently found in powder injection-molded (PIM) compacts. These defects are partly related to the swelling of the binders during solvent debinding. However, little quantitative analysis has been reported to date.

Charge‐Tunable Coacervate Micelles for Separator Engineering in Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A separator engineering strategy based on charge‐tunable complex coacervate core micelles (C3Ms) is presented to form an ion‐selective layer regulating polysulfide transport in Li–S batteries. The micelles enable uniform adsorption onto commercial polypropylene separators and infiltration throughout the internal pore network, suppressing polysulfide ...

Additively Manufactured Porous Ceramics as Tunable Dielectrics for Passive Temperature Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Porous ceramic lattices, 3D‐printed from a multicomponent oxide ink, are integrated with LC resonators for passive wireless temperature sensing. By tuning porosity, the dielectric properties and RF response are engineered to produce distinct resonant frequency shifts with temperature. The results establish a structure‐driven approach to customizing the

Scaling of Planar Sodium‐Nickel Chloride Battery Cells to 90 cm2 Active Area

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
Large planar Na β′′ alumina electrolytes are prepared by tape‐casting and die‐pressing. These ceramic electrolytes are used to prepare planar sodium‐nickel chloride cells with 90 cm2 active area, providing a high capacity of 7 Ah. Successful cell cycling is demonstrated at 300 °C at rates up to C/4 (20 mA cm−2) for a cumulative capacity of 3.6 Ah cm−2.
