Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

Solvatochromism of 5-(4-substituted arylazo)-4-phenyl-6-methyl-3-cyano-2-pyridones

open access: yesZaštita Materijala, 2018
Eight 5-(4-substituted arylazo)-4-phenyl-6-methyl-3-cyano-2-pyridones were synthesized by reaction of benzoylacetone and arendiazonium salt, followed by condensation with cyanoacetamide. Absorption spectra of all azo pyridone dyes were recorded in twelve

DFT study and NBO analysis of solvation/substituent effects of 3-phenylbenzo[d]thiazole-2(3H)-imine derivatives [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2020
In this work, to determine natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis, solvation and substituent effects for electron-releasing substituents (CH3, OH) and electron-withdrawing derivatives (Cl, NO2, CF3) in para positions on the molecular structure of the ...

Discrete solvent effects on the effective interaction between charged colloids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Using computer simulations of two charged colloidal spheres with their counterions in a hard sphere solvent, we show that the granular nature of the solvent significantly influences the effective colloidal interaction. For divalent counterions, the total

Survival Outcomes and Complications Among Canadian Children With Retinoblastoma: A Population‐Based Report From CYP‐C

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most common pediatric ocular cancer, yet population‐based data on survival and risk factors remain limited. This study aimed to describe survival in a large national RB cohort and identify predictors of death and complications.

Electrochemical Behavior of Ytterbium Trichloride in Oxygenated Organic Solvents

open access: yesChemElectroChem
While all lanthanides have a stable trivalent oxidation state, three lanthanides are known to form divalent states: europium, ytterbium, and samarium.

Modelling and experimental study of separators for co-solvent recovery in a supercritical extraction process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Co-solvent recovery in supercritical extraction is addressed here through a theoretical description of the behaviour of a CO2 + co-solvent mixture into a cascade of cyclonic separators, such as those existing in conventional fractionation processes based

Personalized Selumetinib Dosing in Pediatric Neurofibromatosis Type 1: Insights From a Pilot Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.

Agglomeration of Nanoparticles Inhibits Solvent‐Driven Ligand Stripping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces
The colloidal stability of nanoparticles (NPs) is significantly affected by complex solvent‐ligand interactions, with poor solvents often inducing NP agglomeration and ligand desorption from the surface. Despite the frequent occurrence of these phenomena
