NaY Zeolite: A Useful Catalyst for Nitrile Hydrolysis

open access: yesMolecules, 2000
The NaY zeolite catalysed hydrolysis of nitriles to primary amides is reported. It is found that aryl nitriles with strong electron-withdrawing substituents and cyanopyridines are readily hydrolysed in the water suspension, while aliphatic nitriles do ...

The Global Polarity of Alcoholic Solvents and Water – Importance of the Collectively Acting Factors Density, Refractive Index and Hydrogen Bonding Forces

open access: yesChemistryOpen, 2022
The DHBD quantity represents the hydroxyl group density of alcoholic solvents or water. DHBD is purely physically defined by the product of molar concentration of the solvent (N) and the factor Σn=n×f which reflects the number n and position (f‐factor ...

Transitioning Formamide Solvothermal Syntheses of MOFs to Less Toxic Solvents

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 29, 7 August 2026.
Metal‐organic Frameworks (MOFs) are commonly synthesized in toxic formamide solvents. This study investigates the synthetic factors required for effective removal of formamides across various classes of MOFs, providing a foundation for designing new sustainable MOF syntheses.

MANGO‐“Fruitcage”: A Conditional Photocage Utilizing a Fluorescence Light‐Up Aptamer

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 29, 7 August 2026.
Fruitcaging ‐ a proof of concept study of a conditional photocage (Thiazol‐Orange) activated upon binding to the fluorescence light up aptamer (Mango). The prolongation of the excited state lifetime explains the redirection of the reactive pathway toward photocleavage and provides a sensitive spectroscopic readout.

Comparison of Strategies for the Determination of Sterol Sulfates via GC-MS Leading to a Novel Deconjugation-Derivatization Protocol

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Sulfoconjugates of sterols play important roles as neurosteroids, neurotransmitters, and ion channel ligands in health and disease. In most cases, sterol conjugate analysis is performed with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.

Electron‐Donating Multifunctional Molecules: A Strategy for High‐Performance Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Multifunctional molecules containing electron‐donating groups are critically important in perovskite solar cells (PSCs), including defect passivation, crystallization modulation, energy level alignment, and other functions. This review systematically examines the application and research progress of such multifunctional molecules in PSCs ...

Toward Chromoselective Transformations in Biological Systems: Perspectives and Challenges

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 65, Issue 31, 27 July 2026.
Controlling biological systems with small‐molecule chromophores has evolved into a powerful strategy and is applied from chemical biology to medicine. However, the complexity of in vivo systems cannot be matched by a single wavelength of light. Developing methods to combine and individually control multiple chromophores is crucial.
