A new class of smart gadolinium contrast agent for tissue pH probing using magnetic resonance imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Detecting tissue pH in vivo is extremely vital for medical diagnosis and formulation of treatment decisions. To this end, many investigations have been carried out to develop an accurate and efficient method of in vivo pH measurement.

Synthesis of 5,10-bis(Trifluoromethyl) Substituted β-Octamethylporphyrins and Central-Metal-Dependent Solvolysis of Their meso-Trifluoromethyl Groups

open access: yesMolecules, 2016
5,10-Bistrifluoromethyl substituted β-octamethylporphyrins were synthesized via a scrambling side reaction of a dipyrromethane precursor in the presence of a large excess of trifluoroacetic acid.

Solvolysis of Coal by Hydrogenated Solvent VI. Solvolysis of Canadian Coals.

open access: yesJournal of the Fuel Society of Japan, 1991
Solvolysis liquefaction of twelve Canadian coals using hydorogenated anthracene oil has been carried out using 50ml tubing bomb reactor. The coal conversion and the amounts of gaseous products were discussed with H/C atomic ratio and the chemic-al structure of coal determined by 13C solid-state NMR.

Influence of Dielectric Environment upon Isotope Effects onGlycoside Heterolysis: Computational Evaluation and AtomicHessian Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Isotope effects depend upon the polarity of the bulk medium in which a chemical process occurs. Implicit solvent calculations with molecule-shaped cavities show that the equilibrium isotope effect (EIE) for heterolysis of the glycosidic bonds in 5 ...

Microwave - Assisted alkaline solvolysis of pigmented polyethylene terephthalate flakes in glycerol media

open access: yesCase Studies in Chemical and Environmental Engineering, 2023
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles come in various colours depending on the usage or the manufacturer's branding preference. However, post-consumer PET bottles are known to be non-biodegradable, hence the development of various routes to convert ...

Photocaged Oxytocin and Vasopressin Probes to Decipher Neuropeptide Signalling With High Spatiotemporal Resolution

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Novel and biocompatible photoactivatable oxytocin and vasopressin probes, utilising state‐of‐the‐art photocages, remain inactive in the dark. Light exposure facilitates rapid spatiotemporal receptor activation and phospholipase C (PLC)‐mediated downstream signalling. Figure created in https://BioRender.com.

Solvolysis Study of Cycliciminomitomycins

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2007
The solvolysis rates for the substituted C(7)-cyclohexylamino- or C(8)-cyclohexyliminomitomycins 8-19 were determined in buffered methanolic solutions (0.06 M bis-Tris.HCl, pH: 5.5) at 25 degrees C and then compared with mitomycin C (1) and porfiromycin.

Optimisation of solvolysis for recycling carbon fibre reinforced composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Solvolysis processes have been used to degrade the resin of two different varieties of epoxy based carbon fibre reinforced composite (CFRC) materials. A degradation of up to 98% has been achieved when processing material at a temperature of 320 °C using ...
