Reduced quantity and quality of SOM along a thaw sequence on the Tibetan Plateau
Carbon (C) release from thawing permafrost is potentially the largest climate feedback from terrestrial ecosystems. However, the magnitude of this feedback remains highly uncertain, partly due to the limited understanding of how abrupt permafrost thaw (e.

The amorphous Zr‐doped HfO2 memristors fabricated via the co‐sputtering approach exhibit improved switching performance by providing a controllable knob to modulate defects in the switching layer, satisfying the requirement for complementary‐metal‐oxide‐semiconductor back‐end‐of‐line (CMOS BEOL) integration.

Unmasked by Pregnancy: A Case of Latent Hypogammaglobulinemia with a Familial Link to CVID
IntroductionHypogammaglobinemia in pregnancy can be an expected physiological change, resulting from hemodilution and active transfer of immunoglobulins to the fetus via the placenta.

Introducing self-organized maps (SOM) as a visualization tool for materials research and education
Materials informatics is an emerging discipline that opens a new paradigm of science: data-driven materials discovery. The visualization of high dimensional material properties data is challenging due to a lack of appropriate tools.

Cardiovascular Simulation Cases for Dental Students
Introduction Human patient simulation (HPS) exercises are now routinely used in medical school for teaching physiologic principles in a clinical context without patient risks. The use of HPS in dental education, however, is still exceedingly rare.

Danube sediment contamination with polychlorinated biphenyls: New interpretation of sediment quality assessment [PDF]
Among the contaminants of greatest concern, it is still possible to detect in aquatic systems "old" classics such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).

Som Based Assurance Assessment for Information Security Management System in Organization [PDF]
Information Security Management System (ISMS) has a lot of standards such as ISO/IEC 27001. In order to assess the quality assurance of ISMS, an organization should design and implement some mechanism.

This paper proposes an extension of the self-organizing map (SOM), in which the mapping objects themselves are self-organizing maps. Thus a “SOM of SOMs” is presented, which we refer to as a SOM2. A SOM2 has a hierarchical structure consisting of a single parent SOM and a set of child SOMs.
