Stem-Like Adaptive Aneuploidy and Cancer Quasispecies [PDF]
We analyze and reinterpret experimental evidence from the literature to argue for an ability of tumor cells to self-regulate their aneuploidy rate. We conjecture that this ability is mediated by a diversification factor that exploits molecular mechanisms

Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Possibilities and limitations of vegetative propagation in breeding and mass propagation of Norway spruce [PDF]
The use of vegetative mass propagation in practical forestry with Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) is limited at present, although its potential to deliver high genetic gains is obvious.

Epigenetic reprogramming in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and downstream myeloid cells, mediated by H3.3 downregulation and endogenous retroelement (ERE) overexpression, contributes to the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). ABSTRACT Background Skewed myelopoiesis in the bone marrow has been identified as a key driver of multiple ...

Effects of Osmolytic Agents on Somatic Embryogenesis of Saffron (<i>Crocus sativus </i>L.)
A protocol for callus induction from meristem tissues and subsequent somatic embryo formation were established in this study. Explants were taken from apical and lateral meristems of saffron and these explants were cultured on MS medium supplemented with

Plant Recovery from Sweetpotato Somatic Embryos [PDF]
Plant formation from somatic embryos in response to BAP, NAA, and sucrose was studied in sweetpotato [Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.]. A maximum of 15% embryos at the torpedo stage of development formed plants of agar-solidified basal medium containing 3% sucrose and no growth regulators. The percentage of embryos forming shoots was increased to 53% by 4 μm

Elinvar Materials: Recent Progress and Challenges
Elinvar materials, exhibiting temperature‐invariant elastic modulus, are critical for precision instruments and emerging technologies. This article reviews recent progress in the field, with a focus on the anomalous thermoelastic behavior observed in key material systems.

Studies on stimulatory and inhibitory conditioning factors for somatic embryogenesis in Japanese larch (Larix leptolepis GORDON) [PDF]
A fertilized egg forms two tissues, embryo-proper and suspensor. It is generally considered that the development of embryo-proper is supported by suspensor, which connects embryo-proper to maternal tissue.

GENE EXPRESSION IN PECAN SOMATIC EMBRYOS [PDF]
Repetitive somatic embryogenic lines of pecan (Carya illinoensis) were obtained and subcultured on basal WPM, following a one week induction of zygotic embryo tissue on modified WPM with 6 mg/L NAA. Gene expression of somatic embryos has been studied and compared with that occurring in zygotic embryos.
