IET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 17, Issue 12, Page 1874-1885, December 2023., 2023 A method based on a 60‐GHz frequency‐modulated continuous‐wave (FMCW) radar system is proposed to measure respiratory indices, including FEV1, FVC and FEV1/FVC. Experimental results carried out on 35 subjects demonstrated that radar‐based spirometry could achieve a high agreement with conventional spirometry.

BSA and body shape differ significantly between different populations and both change during life. We propose formulas for BSA that consider height, weight, gender, ethnicity, age and body shape.
