Shale Gas Resources Evaluation of the Songliao Basin
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014The Qingshankou and Nenjiang group in upper cretaceous of Songliao basin is a set of dark shale. Analyze the shale thickness, organic matter type, organic matter abundance, vitrinite reflectance, mineral composition of the permo-carboniferous coal-bearing strata.

Successor Characteristics of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic Songliao Basins
Acta Geologica Sinica - English Edition, 2008Abstract: The Songliao basin is a complex successor basin that was initiated in the Mesozoic and experienced multiple periods of reactivation. Based on seismic and drilling data, as well as regional geologic research, we suggest that the Songliao basin contains several different successor basins resting on top of Carboniferous‐Permian folded strata ...

Comparison of Qingshankou Formation in Songliao Basin with Bakken Formation in Williston Basin
Advanced Materials Research, 2014Based on geological background, this study is to understand the potential of tight oil of Qingshankou Formation in Songliao Basin by comparing lithofacies features, oil-generating conditions and reservoir characteristics. Hundreds of samples are analyzed to derive geochemical parameters, such as organic richness, kerogen type, and source rock maturity.

Late Cretaceous tempestite in northern Songliao Basin, China
Journal of Asian Earth Sciences, 2012Abstract A Late Cretaceous tempestite in the northern Songliao Basin, China, was studied based on thin-section and granularity analyses of borehole samples. The results indicated that the local tempestite can be categorized into several clastic constituent types, which include bottom erosion structures, graded beds, hummocky cross stratification (HCS)

Cretaceous stratigraphy in the Songliao Basin, NE China
Geological Society, London, Special PublicationsThe Songliao Basin is one of the largest non-marine oil- and gas-bearing basins that developed during the Cretaceous period, recording an almost complete Cretaceous stratigraphy. With oil and gas exploration, as well as the Continental Scientific Drilling Project of Cretaceous Songliao Basin (CCSD-SK) (2006–21), significant ...

Tectono-paleogeographic study of the Early Cretaceous in the Songliao Basin
Mining Science and Technology (China), 2011Abstract Based on first-hand material from the geological exploration of petroleum, we made a detailed study of the tectonic development in the Early Cretaceous and the distribution of basement rifts in the Songliao Basin. The sedimentary characteristics of this epoch and the tectono-paleogeography of the basin were expounded.

Research on the anisotropy of thermal conductivity of rocks in Songliao basin, China
Renewable Energy, 2021Abstract Understanding the thermal conductivity of rocks is crucial for the development and utilization of geothermal reservoirs. In order to study the anisotropy of thermal conductivity of rocks, the thermal conductivities of granite, rhyolite, sandstone and mudstone in Songliao basin were tested, and the microstructure, mineral composition and ...

Formation and Evolution of Nonmarine Petroleum in Songliao Basin, China
AAPG Bulletin, 1985ABSTRACT In large lake basins, source rocks containing sapropelic kerogen have a high transformation ratio and a high potential for petroleum, and they offer the material basis for the formation of a large nonmarine oil field. On the basis of geologic and geochemical data and the results of thermal simulation of kerogen, it is ...

Subtle Oil Pools in Xingshugang Delta, Songliao Basin
AAPG Bulletin, 1985ABSTRACT The Daqing oil field and the principal productive zones in the northern part of the Songliao basin are composed of the depositional system of the Xingshugang delta (Lower Cretaceous Putaohua Formation). The subtle (difficult-to-detect) oil pools in the delta, distributed within the Sanzhao and Gulong synclines, developed ...
