Cretaceous volcanic reservoirs and their exploration in the Songliao Basin, northeast China
AAPG Bulletin, 2015ABSTRACT Major reservoirs in the Songliao Basin (SB) are composed of volcanic rocks below 3000 m (9843 ft) of buried depth. Gas accumulations are mostly found in the buried volcanic highs, which in general correspond to paleovolcanic centers. Porosity in the volcanic rocks depends on both primary and secondary processes.

Ostracod Biostratigraphy of the Late Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation in the Songliao Basin
Acta Geologica Sinica - English Edition, 2007Abstract: An ostracod biostratigraphic study was performed on 425 samples from the composite geological section constructed by using cores taken from five selected wells drilled in the Late Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation in the Songliao basin. A total of 19 ostracod zones are established in the formation, of which 3 are newly established and 3 are ...

Abiogenic hydrocarbons in commercial gases from the Songliao Basin, China
Science in China Series D: Earth Sciences, 2009This paper discusses the kinetic fractionation, composition and distribution characteristics of carbon and hydrogen isotopes for various alkane gases formed in different environments, by different mechanisms and from different sources in nature. It is demonstrated that the biodegradation or thermodegradation of complex high-molecule sedimentary organic

Structure and Petroleum Accumulation in Songliao Basin, China: ABSTRACT
AAPG Bulletin, 1981The Songliao basin of northeast China is a Mesozoic-Cenozoic continental sedimentary basin and belongs to the intracratonic combination type. Structurally, it is a huge depression overlying a downfaulted sag. The formation of the basin was related to global plate activity, and its growth underwent four stages of separate downfaulting, rift-valley ...

Hydrogeochemistry of Formation Water in the Northern Songliao Basin, China
2010The Songliao basin is one of the largest Mesozoic continental rifting basins in China, dominated by Cretaceous fluvial and lacustrine strata. Based upon 2433 pressure data and 6270 water sample data around the basin, it is shown that, not only the abnormal pressures exist in the different formations and structural zones, but also the underpressure ...

Formation mechanism of high-temperature geothermal resources in the Songliao Basin
The Songliao Basin, situated in Northeast China, boasts a significant geothermal background evident in numerous boreholes, indicating a rich geothermal resource potential with temperatures exceeding 150℃ at depths of 5km. This study aims to elucidate the formation mechanism of high-temperature geothermal resources in the Songliao Basin ...Boning Tang, Nansheng Qiu, Chuanqing Zhu

Formation and Evolution of Nonmarine Petroleum in Songliao Basin, China: ABSTRACT
AAPG Bulletin, 1981We will discuss the geochemical characteristics of the formation of nonmarine petroleum and its evolution regularities in the Songliao Basin and put forward the most favorable conditions for the formation of petroleum of nonmarine origin. The nonmarine kerogen of China can be classified into three types with two subtypes by composition and three types ...
