Exosome‐Inhibiting Polymeric Sonosensitizer for Tumor‐Specific Sonodynamic Immunotherapy

Advanced Materials
AbstractCombination cancer immunotherapy based on electromagnetic energy and immunotherapy shows potent anti‐cancer efficacy. However, as a factor that mediates tumor metastasis and immune suppression, the impact of tumor exosomes on therapy under electromagnetic energy stimulation remains unclear.

Exploring BODIPY derivatives as sonosensitizers for anticancer sonodynamic therapy

European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry
Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) is an emerging non-invasive and effective therapeutic modality for cancer treatment bearing benefit of deep tissue-penetration in comparison to photo-inspired therapy. However, exploring novel sonosensitizers with high sonosensitivity and desirable biosafety remains a significant challenge.

Sonodynamic therapy of cancer using novel sonosensitizers.

Anticancer research, 2007
Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) of cancer is based on preferential uptake and/or retention of a sonosensitizing drug (sonosensitizer) in tumor tissues and subsequent activation of the drug by ultrasound irradiation. Ultrasound can penetrate deeply into tissues and can be focused into a small region of a tumor to activate a sonosensitizer.

Sonodynamic antitumor effect of a novel sonosensitizer on S180 solid tumor

Biopharmaceutics & Drug Disposition, 2013
ABSTRACTPurpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sonodynamically induced antitumor effect of a novel sonosensitizer (DVDMS) in mice bearing sarcoma 180 solid tumors. Methods: In order to determine the optimum timing of ultrasound exposure after administration of DVDMS, a three‐dimensional optical imaging system (IVIS spectrum) was used to

Programmable Bacterial Architects Crafting Sonosensitizers for Tumor‐Specific Sonodynamic Immunotherapy

Advanced Materials
AbstractSonodynamic therapy (SDT) is a non‐invasive cancer treatment that uses ultrasound to activate sonosensitizers for selective tumor ablation. With its superior tissue penetration compared to photodynamic therapy, SDT demonstrates the potential to stimulate antitumor immune responses by modulating the tumor microenvironment.

Formulation and Characterization of Sonosensitive Organic Nanoparticles

2021

Editing Benzotrithiophene-Based Covalent Organic Frameworks for Developing New Sonosensitizers

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces
Recent insights into covalent organic frameworks (COFs) provide an opportunity for developing new sonosensitizers with the advantages of both small molecules and inorganic nanoagents. Herein, we synthesize two benzotrithiophene-based imine-linked COFs (BTT-DPh-COF and BTT-DPy-COF) through density-functional-theory-guided structure editing. The tailored

A telluroviologen-anchored tetraphenylporphyrin as sonosensitizer for periodontitis sonodynamic therapy

Biomaterials
Periodontitis is a chronic disease caused by bacteria (e.g. Porphyromonas gingivalis, P.gingivalis) that currently lacks effective non-invasive treatment options. Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) is an emerging non-invasive antimicrobial therapeutic strategy.
