A method for simultaneously visualizing the two-dimensional distributions of temperature and soot volume fraction in an ethylene flame was presented. A single-color charge-coupled device (CCD) camera was used to capture the flame image in the visible ...

The influence of rivers on seabird foraging ecology
ABSTRACT Rivers act as vital arteries to the world's oceans, delivering fresh water and nutrients that sustain marine ecosystems. Globally, river flow increasingly is being altered by climate change and anthropogenic pressures; yet the significance of rivers to predatory marine species, such as seabirds, and the extent to which river‐related changes ...

Spectrally Resolved Measurement of Flame Radiation to Determine Soot Temperature and Concentration [PDF]
A multiwavelength flame emission technique is developed for high spatial resolution determination of soot temperature and soot volume fraction in axisymmetric laminar diffusion flames. Horizontal scans of line-integrated spectra are collected over a spectral range of 500-945 nm.

ABSTRACT Environmental governance in Nigeria's oil and gas sector remains central to global climate justice debates, yet persistent accountability failures continue to undermine meaningful environmental and social outcomes. Despite extensive regulatory frameworks, accountability in resource‐dependent contexts is frequently reduced to formal reporting ...

Both perchlorate and black carbon (BC) are known for their common source of origin (i.e. burning processes, especially fireworks display), yet to our knowledge no study has focused on the effect of perchlorate (ClO4-) on the mobility of black carbon. The

Investigation of soot formation in pressurized swirl flames by laser measurements of temperature, flame structures and soot concentrations [PDF]
Abstract Soot formation and oxidation were investigated in swirl flames operated with ethylene/air at elevated pressure in a gas turbine model combustor with optical access. Coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering was used for temperature measurements, laser-induced incandescence for soot concentration and laser-induced fluorescence for the ...

Here, we design a flexible and non‐flammable solid‐state electrolyte with hierarchical dual‐ion conductive channels. The engineered electrolyte combines continuous organic conductive‐phase pathways for fast bulk Li+ transport and dynamic polymer networks for interfacial ion hopping, achieving unprecedented room temperature conductivity (> 1 mS cm−1 ...

Soot formation in combustion represents a complex phenomenon that strongly depends on several factors such as pressure, temperature, fuel chemical composition, and the extent of premixing. The effect of partial premixing on soot formation is of relevance

Distribution of Soot Concentrations in the Diffusion Flames
The objective of the present work is to obtain information on the formation and the decomposition of the soot corresponding to the combustion condition. The quantity of combustion air and dilution of the fuel with N2 gas are changed in a wide range and the quantity of fuel is constant in the experiment. The main results are as follows.
