Laboratory measurements in a turbulent, swirling flow [PDF]

open access: yes
Measurements of soot inside a flame-tube burner using a special water-flushed probe are discussed. The soot is measured at a series of points at each burner, and upon occasion gaseous constitutents NO, CO, hydrocarbons, etc., were also measured.

Radiative heat transfer during turbulent combustion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate the radiative heat transfer in a co-flowing turbulent nonpremixed propane-air flame inside a three-dimensional cylindrical combustion chamber.

Asymmetric Information With Multiple Risks: The Case of the Chilean Private Health Insurance Market

open access: yesHealth Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We extend the Rothshild and Stiglitz (1976) model to two sources of risk –inpatient and outpatient risk– to better proxy real‐world health insurance markets. We uncover an interesting theoretical possibility: Take individuals A and B, who are low risks in, say, the inpatient dimension but A is riskier in the outpatient dimension.

Predictions of soot formation in burner-stabilized stagnation flames using various reaction mechanisms

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology
To clarify the effects of reaction mechanisms on soot formation, a two-dimensional numerical simulation was performed for a burner-stabilized stagnation flame.

Negative learning emotions and learning goal orientation in teams: HRD implications

open access: yesHuman Resource Development Quarterly, Volume 36, Issue 1, Page 49-67, Spring 2025.
Abstract Utilizing insights from team regulation theory and social cognitive theory, this research conducted empirical testing through a field survey involving engineering teams. This research is significant as it inspires teams to effectively harness their learning capacity, thereby enhancing collective motivation for future success.

Soot formation in the methane oxygen and methane/oxygen/hydrogen flame [PDF]

open access: yes
The feasibility of using methane, recovered from carbon dioxide by the Sabatier-Senderens reaction, was investigated as a fuel in a reaction control engine. A problem to be avoided is the emission of soot particles.

Perceived Partner Responsiveness Is Associated With Adolescent Sexual Wellbeing Over 1 Year

open access: yesJournal of Adolescence, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Research on adolescent sexuality is primarily cross‐sectional and often neglects interpersonal factors that may play a key role in promoting their sexual wellbeing, such as perceived partner responsiveness, that is, feeling understood, cared for, and accepted by a partner.

Detailed kinetic modeling of soot formation at lightly sooting conditions

open access: yes, 2017
Soot particles formed in combustion processes are well-known for their negative effects, but their formation is still elusive and challenging. In particular, the main chemical and physical pathways are not fully understood. It is important to characterize soot not only in terms of mass yield but also to accurately characterize number density and ...
