Modelling of soot formation in laminar diffusion flames using a comprehensive CFD-PBE model with detailed gas-phase chemistry [PDF]
A discretised population balance equation (PBE) is coupled with an in-house computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code in order to model soot formation in laminar diffusion flames. The unsteady Navier–Stokes, species and enthalpy transport equations and the

A mechanochemical Kolbe–Schmitt reaction of disodium catecholate enables the synthesis of mono‐ and dicarboxylated catechols at low temperature and CO2 pressure. Directly derivatizing the resulting carboxylic acid and phenolic moieties in the obtained mixture provides plasticizer blends with efficiencies competitive to commercial benchmarks.

Effect of ammonia addition on suppressing soot formation in methane co-flow diffusion flames
Due to issues surrounding carbon dioxide emissions from carbon-containing fuels, there is growing interest in ammonia (NH3) as an alternative combustion fuel.

Diesel soot photooxidation enhances the heterogeneous formation of H2SO4
Both field observation and experimental simulation have implied that black carbon or soot plays a remarkable role in the catalytic oxidation of SO2 for the formation of atmospheric sulfate.

In cylinder visualization of stratified combustion of E85 and main sources of soot formation [PDF]
The combustion process and soot formation in spark ignited spray guided stratified combustion of E85 was investigated in a single cylinder optical engine with direct injection of fuel using an outward opening piezo actuated injector. The effect of engine
