Regulated Ion‐Diffusion Hydrogels for Subtle and Multimodal Temperature‐Strain Sensing in Wound Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.

Thermo-Diffusion and Diffusion-Thermo Effects on MHD Convective Flow Past an Impulsively Started Vertical Plate Embedded in Porous Medium

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics
This study introduces an analytical solution for the unsteady MHD free convection and mass transfer flow past a vertical plate embedded in porous medium, taking into account the Soret and Dufour effects.

Performance improvement of a micro-structured gas separator utilizing the Soret effect

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2022
The Soret effect is a phenomenon in which the components of mixed fluids are separated by a temperature gradient. This study investigated a simple and low-cost technique for extracting high concentration hydrogen (H2) by utilizing the Soret effect in a ...

Oscillatory long-wave Marangoni convection in a layer of a binary liquid: Hexagonal patterns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We consider a long-wave oscillatory Marangoni convection in a layer of a binary liquid in the presence of the Soret effect. A weakly nonlinear analysis is carried out on a hexagonal lattice.

Azaporphyrinoid‐Based Photo‐ and Electroactive Architectures for Advanced Functional Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A long‐standing collaboration between the Torres and Guldi groups has yielded diverse azaporphyrinoid‐based donor‐acceptor nanohybrids with promising applications in solar energy conversion. This conspectus highlights key molecular platforms and structure‐function relationships that govern light and charge management, supporting the rational design of ...

Effect of Soret diffusion on the growth of spherical crystals in supercooled alloy melts under oscillatory flow.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
The growth of spherical crystals in binary alloy melts with thermal diffusion effects under oscillatory flow is investigated analytically. Using the multiple scale method, we derive approximate analytical solutions for both the crystal interface growth ...

Plasmonic Nanomachines: Creating Local Potential Gradients and Motions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic nanomachines can generate optical, thermal, and chemical potential gradients to drive directional rectilinear, rotational, and twisting motions at the nanometer scale. The integration of multimodal plasmonic forces with functional materials and programmed structural distortions enables precise spatiotemporal actuation, thereby providing a ...

Method of growing composites of the type exhibiting the Soret effect [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
A predetermine amount of segregation is introduced into a molten sample of a composite that exhibits the Soret effect, such amount approximating the amount of segregation resulting from directional solidification of the sample.

Effect of the Pauli principle on photoelectron spin transport in $p^+$ GaAs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In p+ GaAs thin films, the effect of photoelectron degeneracy on spin transport is investigated theoretically and experimentally by imaging the spin polarization profile as a function of distance from a tightly-focussed light excitation spot.
