MODELS OF SORPTION ISOTHERMS FOR FOOD: USES AND LIMITATIONS

open access: yesVitae, 2011
Moisture sorption isotherms describe the relationship between moisture content and water activity in food. This work presents basic concepts related to the sorption thermodynamics of water, the classification of isotherms, “uses and limitations of the ...

Rapid Steam‐Assisted Temperature Swing Adsorption for Direct Air Capture Using a Rotary Adsorber

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a direct air capture (DAC) device based on a steam‐regeneration rotary adsorber for high‐purity CO2. Testing of the prototype demonstrates its capability for continuous and stable carbon capture with the potential to achieve ton‐scale.

Modelling the Desorption Isotherms of Chestnuts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The sorption isotherm of food material is pertinent in the processing and storage of food products. Desorption isotherms for peeled and unpeeled chestnuts were investigated using the hygrometric technique at 60 ºC and water activity ...

Enhancing Chemical Stability and Molecular Selectivity of Porous Organic Cages via Core–Shell Polymer Coating

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an interfacial method to fabricate POC@polymer core–shell nanostructures combining cage porosity with polymer robustness. Through chiral self‐assembly and non‐solvent‐induced surface polymerisation, uniform ∼20 nm polymer‐coated particles are produced.

A Polymer‐Intercalated Modulation Assembly Strategy Towards Mesoporous Single‐Crystalline BiVO4 Materials for Enhanced Photocatalytic Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A polymer‐intercalated modulation assembly strategy was proposed to synthesize mesoporous single‐crystalline BiVO4 with tunable pore structure by co‐assembly of inorganic–organic composite through coordination bonds and hydrogen bonds. Thanks to single‐crystalline properties and mesoporous structure with vanadium vacancy microenvironment, the prepared ...

Biporous Metal-Organic Framework with Tunable CO2/CH4 Separation Performance Facilitated by Intrinsic Flexibility. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this work, we report the synthesis of SION-8, a novel metal-organic framework (MOF) based on Ca(II) and a tetracarboxylate ligand TBAPy4- endowed with two chemically distinct types of pores characterized by their hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties.
