Synthesis and application of alginate@CuFe2O4 polymeric spheres in 17‐β‐estradiol adsorption processes in Amazonian rivers

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Magnetic alginate beads, functionalized with copper ferrite, effectively remove 17‐β‐estradiol from Amazonian water, exhibiting optimized 238.65 μg g−1 capacity, fast 40 min kinetics, easy recovery, and successful remediation. Abstract The presence of endocrine‐disrupting compounds, such as 17‐β‐estradiol, in aquatic ecosystems poses a significant ...

Computational design of poly(p‐phenylene vinylene)‐based gas sensors: tunable reactivity and selectivity via side‐group functionalization

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Side‐group functionalization enhances the reactivity and optoelectronic properties of poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) (PPV) derivatives for chemical sensing. PPV‐CN and PPV‐NO2 display strong interactions and pronounced responses, providing molecular‐level insights for designing high‐performance polymer‐based sensors.

Influence of sulfonation degree and deposition technique on the electrical and morphological properties of sulfonated polystyrene thin films

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Sulfonated polystyrene films with different degrees of sulfonation were fabricated using Langmuir–Schaefer and drop‐casting techniques. Both the deposition method and sulfonation level strongly affect film morphology and electrical response, governing the performance of these materials as ammonia gas sensors.

Moisture properties of self-levelling flooring compounds. Part II. Sorption isotherms. [Elektronisk resurs]

open access: yes, 2004
Moisture sorption in self-levelling flooring compounds was investigated by using a sorption balance. Results are presented as sorption isotherms. Influence of temperature, age, water to binder ratio and carbonation are also presented.

Porous Modified Calcium Carbonate as an Efficient Carrier for Gallic and Ascorbic Acids in Humidity‐Activated Oxygen Scavenging Systems

open access: yesPackaging Technology and Science, EarlyView.
Porous modified calcium carbonate (MCC) is presented as an efficient carrier for humidity‐activated oxygen scavengers based on gallic acid and ascorbic acid. The porous MCC structure preserves high accessibility of the active compounds, enabling effective oxygen scavenging under high relative humidity, with performance governed by loading level ...

Sorption of Supercritical Carbon Dioxide in Polymers

open access: yes, 2000
Sorption of CO2 (at 40.0 oC and pressure up to 100 bar) in conditioned ethyl-cellulose has been measured by gravimetric method. NELF model, used to predict sorption isotherms, is then considered: from literature sorption data of CO2/polymer systems it is
