Systematic mutational analysis of the cation-independent mannose 6-phosphate/insulin-like growth factor II receptor cytoplasmic domain - An acidic cluster containing a key aspartate is important for function in lysosomal enzyme sorting [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We have used systematic mutational analysis to identify signals in the 166-residue murine cation-independent mannose 6-phosphate/insulin-like growth factor II receptor cytoplasmic domain required for efficient sorting of lysosomal enzymes.

Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic in metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this exploratory study, we investigated the relationship between the gut microbiota and outcome in patients with metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer, treated in a randomized clinical trial with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immune checkpoint blockade.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Size Matters in Conjugated Polymer Chirality‐Selective SWCNT Extraction

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Carbon‐based nanomaterials have catalyzed breakthroughs across various scientific and engineering disciplines. The key to unlocking a new generation of tailor‐made nanomaterials based on single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) lies in the precise sorting

Order-sorted completion: the many-sorted way [PDF]

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 1989
The author improves previous results about the relation between order- sorted and many-sorted rewriting. In particular it has been shown that one step of order-sorted rewriting with a set of rules \(R\) is one step of many-sorted rewriting with the lowest parse of the sort specialization \(R/s/\) of \(R\) modulo the axioms \(LP\) of the lowest parse ...

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

New methodology to optimize sorting in wood drying

open access: yesMaderas: Ciencia y Tecnología, 2014
One important problem in lumber drying is to maintain the lumber moisture content distribution within certain minimum and maximum values. Over-drying and under-drying are common causes for lower grade recovery and dimensional stability problems.

Pulse interference method against PRI sorting

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Based on the purpose of proactive anti-reconnaissance, the essential characteristics of several typical pulse repetition interval (PRI) sorting algorithms were analysed and the feasibility of counter-deinterleaving was discussed.

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.
