Synchrotron XRF Imaging Reveals Manganese Accumulation in the Golgi and Post‐Synapses of Neurons and Enhanced Uptake in Astrocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Despite widespread exposure, the mechanisms of manganese neurotoxicity remain poorly understood. Using correlative cryogenic fluorescence and synchrotron X‐ray fluorescence imaging techniques, we show that the Golgi apparatus is the primary accumulation site for manganese in both neurons and astrocytes, and that manganese targets the neuronal ...

Observation of magnonic spin-orbit torque in epitaxial Co films

open access: yesnpj Spintronics
Using spin-orbit torque (SOT) to manipulate magnons has played a crucial role in magnon spintronics. However, the contribution of magnons to the second harmonic voltage —critical for the calibration of SOT— remains elusive in spintronics. Here, we report

Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

Reduction of Operating Current by Harnessing the Field‐ and Damping‐Like Torque Ratios in Nonmagnet–Ferromagnet Heterojunctions

open access: yesSmall Science
With the growing demand for high‐speed electronic devices with low energy consumption, spin–orbit torque (SOT) has become a significant focus. SOT can switch the magnetization direction in a material system with broken inversion symmetry, such as a ...

FASLG Derived from Fibroblasts in Hydroxyapatite‐Rich Microenvironment Induces Urothelial Anoikis to Trigger Randall's Plaque Exposure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Randall's plaques (RP) serve as the nidus for calcium oxalate (CaOx) kidney stones. The current study reveals that hydroxyapatite (HAP) crystals activate the THY1–GSK3α/β–β‐catenin axis in renal interstitial fibroblasts (hRIFs), inducing FASLG secretion.

Spin-orbit torque (SOT) effective fields and SOT-induced switching in perpendicularly magnetized multilayers

open access: yes, 2019
Spin-orbit torque (SOT) is an electrical-driven phenomenon in which the magnetization of a ferromagnetic material can be switched by the momentum transfer of the diffused accumulated spins at the heavy metal (HM)/ferromagnet (FM) interface, when applying

Epithelial TRIM27 Inhibits Intestinal Inflammation in Ulcerative Colitis by the USP7/TRIM27‐IKK Double Negative‐Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The E3 ubiquitin ligase tripartite motif 27 (TRIM27) is a negative regulator of NF‐κB activation and the innate immune response, and TRIM27 deficiency significantly impairs dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)‐induced colitis. The function of TRIM27 in intestinal epithelial cells (IECs), the mechanism by which TRIM27 inhibits the NF‐κB pathway and its
