Sound field reproduction [PDF]
This thesis is concerned with the problem of reproducing a desired sound field with an array of loudspeakers. A theory based on functional analysis and the theory ofintegral equations is developed for the study of this problem. An attempt is made to develop a mathematical framework that can be adopted as a generalized theory of sound field reproduction.

Velocity controlled sound field reproduction by non-uniformly spaced loudspeakers [PDF]
One approach to the reproduction of a sound field is to ensure the reproduction of the acoustic pressure on the surface bounding the volume within which reproduction is sought.

Sound field reproduction around a scatterer in reverberation
2009 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2009We devise a method for sound field reproduction (SFR) around a solid object in a reverberant room. Until now, work have focussed on reproducing sound in an empty listening space and, for the most part, in non-reverberant environments. However, in a reverberant, room as soon as a listener steps into the space he alters his acoustic environment ...

Sound Field Translation Methods for Binaural Reproduction
2019 IEEE Workshop on Applications of Signal Processing to Audio and Acoustics (WASPAA), 2019Virtual-reality reproduction of real-world acoustic environments often fix the listener position to that of the microphone. In this paper, we propose a method for listener translation in a virtual reproduction that incorporates a mix of near-field and far-field sources.

Modeling and control of sound system for sound field reproduction
2017 56th Annual Conference of the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers of Japan (SICE), 2017Recently, studies on reproduction of realistic sound field for communication with presence have been under-taken. In previous study, sound field reproduction using principle of boundary surface control did not consider acoustic echo. Because of acoustic echo, precision of soundfield reproduction is dropped.

New method for sound field reproduction
IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 1989A new audio system which reproduces reflections of actual concert halls is presented. The system is based on the symmetrical six-point sound-field analysis method and a sound-field simulation method through convolution. The system reproduces realistic sound fields which cannot be reproduced by conventional stereo systems.

Reproduction of plane wave sound fields
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1993The problem of reproducing a desired sound field in space, not just at a number of discrete points, but over a continuous two-dimensional area, is investigated. In theory, any sound field can be reconstructed perfectly in a given region by using a continuous monopole/dipole layer, but this is obviously not possible in practice.

Multichannel sound field reproduction aims at the physically correct synthesis of acoustical wave fields with a large number of loudspeakers. It goes beyond stereophony by extending or eliminating the so-called sweet spot. This chapter presents the physical and mathematical description of various methods for this purpose and presents the physical and ...

Surround sound field reproduction system and surround sound field reproduction method
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2006A surround sound field reproduction system and method is disclosed by which, in such a case that a listener changes its posture so that a portion of a video image to which attention should be paid may be observed in front of the listener, a sound image can be localized accordingly in a direction in which the video image is observed in front of the ...
