Sound Field Reproduction by Manipulating Sound Pressure on Boundary

open access: yes, 2005
If sound pressure values on boundary are available, then we can predict the sound field in it. Similarly, we can reproduce sound field by manipulating sound pressure values on boundary.

From Lab to Landscape: Environmental Biohybrid Robotics for Ecological Futures

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This Perspective explores environmental biohybrid robotics, integrating living tissues, microorganisms, and insects for operation in real‐world ecosystems. It traces the leap from laboratory experiments to forests, wetlands, and urban environments and discusses key challenges, development pathways, and opportunities for ecological monitoring and ...

Reproduction of a plane-wave sound field using an array of loudspeakers

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Speech and Audio Processing, 2001
Reproduction of a sound field is a fundamental problem in acoustic signal processing. In this paper, we use a spherical harmonics analysis to derive performance bounds on how well an array of loudspeakers can recreate a three-dimensional (3-D) plane-wave sound field within a spherical region of space. Specifically, we develop a relationship between the

Room reflections assisted spatial sound field reproduction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
With recent advances in surround sound technology, an increased interest is shown in the problem of virtual sound reproduction. However, the performance of existing surround sound systems are degraded by factors like room reverberation and listener ...

Intelligent Maintenance Review for Robots: Multimodal Information, Deep Diagnosis and Embodied Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review maps the methods to monitor robots’ health by fusing vibration, sound, control signals, vision, force, and oil information with artificial intelligence. It identifies deep learning, transfer learning, digital twins, and physics‐informed models as key methodological pathways enabling earlier diagnosis, safer human–robot collaboration, and ...

Recording, Processing, and Reproduction of Vibrations Produced by Impact Noise Sources in Buildings

open access: yesAcoustics
Several studies on the perception of impact sounds question the correlation of standardized approaches with perceived annoyance, while more recent studies have come to inconsistent conclusions.

Virtual acoustic system with a multichannel headphone

open access: yes, 2003
The performance of current virtual acoustic systems is highly sensitive to the geometry of the individual ear at high frequencies. The objective of this paper is to study a virtual acoustic system which may be not sensitive to individual ear shape.

Disorder‐Induced Extremely Low Thermal Conductivity of Graphite Fluoride

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This article investigates the effect of fluorination on the thermal conductivity of graphite fluoride, demonstrating the relationship between structural modification and thermal conductivity in an extreme case. The record‐low through‐plane thermal conductivity measured in exfoliated graphite fluoride flakes was found to correlate with the wide ...

Hijacking the Host Clock: A Nematode Effector Antagonizes Soybean Circadian Defense and Translation Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Soybean employs its circadian clock, governed by GmCCA1, to rhythmically defend against soybean cyst nematodes. The pathogen retaliates by secreting the effector Hg4E02, which hijacks the clock to suppress defense and co‐opt the host's translation machinery for nutrient acquisition.
