Sound Source Localization: A Survey

open access: yesINTERNATIONAL JOURNAL ON ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY ENGINEERING AND INFORMATION SYSTEM (IJATEIS)
In modern defense systems, there is a growing demand for technologies that detect and track threats without revealing the observer’s position. Sound Source Localization (SSL) fulfills this requirement by passively estimating the position of sound-emitting targets using spatially distributed microphone arrays. Unlike active sensing systems, SSL operates

GATA4‐Driven Transcription of HtrA1 Promotes Cellular Senescence in Ménière's Disease and Age‐Related Audio‐Vestibular Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies the HDAC6/GATA4/HtrA1 axis as a critical driver of cellular senescence in the inner ear. GATA4 nuclear translocation, facilitated by HDAC6 downregulation, transcriptionally activates HtrA1, promoting hair cell senescence, SASP, and audio‐vestibular dysfunction in models of Ménière's disease and age‐related audio‐vestibular ...

Auditory Source Localization by Time Frequency Analysis and Classification of Electroencephalogram Signals

open access: yes, 2019
The temporal lobe or auditory cortex in the brain is involved in processing auditory stimuli. The auditory data processing capability in the brain changes as a person ages. In this paper, we use the hrtf method to produce sound in different directions as

Single sound source localization using multi-layer perceptron

open access: yes, 2017
A localization of single sound source is investigated in this paper. The aim of investigation was to propose a technique for single sound source localization based on sound level differences in microphone array.

Disorder‐Induced Extremely Low Thermal Conductivity of Graphite Fluoride

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This article investigates the effect of fluorination on the thermal conductivity of graphite fluoride, demonstrating the relationship between structural modification and thermal conductivity in an extreme case. The record‐low through‐plane thermal conductivity measured in exfoliated graphite fluoride flakes was found to correlate with the wide ...

Hijacking the Host Clock: A Nematode Effector Antagonizes Soybean Circadian Defense and Translation Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Soybean employs its circadian clock, governed by GmCCA1, to rhythmically defend against soybean cyst nematodes. The pathogen retaliates by secreting the effector Hg4E02, which hijacks the clock to suppress defense and co‐opt the host's translation machinery for nutrient acquisition.

Noise source localisaton in a car environment

open access: yes
Spurious noise (rattles, squeaks, etc) in the interior of car cabinets can be annoying, distractive and indicative of potential performance problems. Fault finding these problems can be difficult since the fault is intermittent and may not necessarily ...
