Investigation of sound transmission in lightweight structures using a waveguide finite element/boundary element approach

open access: yes, 2012
The use of lightweight construction in building applications offers flexibility in use and ease of construction but often goes hand in hand with reduced sound insulation. Regarding this issue, this thesis investigates sound transmission behaviour of such

Examining the role of the hole and the orientation of the baffle on the loss of sound transmission in reactive mufflers using COMSOL software simulation [PDF]

open access: yesطب کار
Introduction: Nowadays, noise pollution in the environment has become as a worldwide health concern. A  large share of this noise comes from vehicles, where mufflers in their exhaust systems are essential for lowering engine noise levels.

Defect Driven Electronic Structure Reconfiguration and Hierarchical Phonon Suppression in Ag2Se Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Indium substitution in Ag2Se nanocrystals simultaneously tailors electronic structure and lattice dynamics. Fermi‐level upshift and band‐gap narrowing enhance electrical transport, while defect‐induced lattice softening intensifies phonon scattering and suppresses lattice thermal conductivity.

Determination on sound transmission loss of sound insulation material / Nurul Asyikin Abu Bakar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This study has three major purposes which are to design an acoustic box, to determine the measurement error of the acoustic box based on a standard sample and to determine the sound transmission loss of selected sound insulation material.

Impedance‐Matched High‐Overtone Thickness‐Shear Bulk Acoustic Resonators With Scalable Mode Volume

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bottom‐electrode‐free high‐overtone bulk acoustic resonator is achieved by lateral excitation of antisymmetric thickness‐shear modes on a lithium‐niobate‐on‐silicon platform. Planar electrode geometry eliminates conventional loading along the resonance path and confines acoustic energy within the electrode gap.
