On multiple-parameter source localization

1996 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing Conference Proceedings, 2002
Localization of multiple-parameter sources is considered in this paper. Specifically, the problem of localizing EEG polarized sources is addressed. Expressions are presented for the variance of the source parameter estimates for the MUSIC estimator. The expressions are presented for both finite sample effects and the model perturbations effects.

Source Parameters for Stick-Slip and for Earthquakes

Science, 1973
Source parameters of stick-slip friction events measured in the laboratory show particle and rupture propagation velocities which are similar to those observed for earthquakes and inferred from seismic source theory. This dynamic similarity strongly supports the idea that stick-slip is the mechanism for shallow earthquakes.

Parameter convergence in source localization

2016 IEEE Conference on Control Applications (CCA), 2016
A source localization problem which is nonlinear is converted to a structured-noise linear problem. An algorithm is proposed and its convergence has been established.

Analysis of glottal source parameters in Parkinsonian speech [PDF]

open access: possible2016 38th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2016
Diagnosis and monitoring of Parkinson's disease has a number of challenges as there is no definitive biomarker despite the broad range of symptoms. Research is ongoing to produce objective measures that can either diagnose Parkinson's or act as an objective decision support tool.

Inversion for source levels and environmental and source track parameters

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2003
A methodology for simultaneous inversion for source levels, source track parameters, and environmental parameters is described. An application to acoustic data recorded on a bottom-mounted, horizontal line array at a soft-sediment, shallow-water site in the Gulf of Mexico off Port Aransas, TX is discussed.

Detection and parameter estimation of multiple radioactive sources

2007 10th International Conference on Information Fusion, 2007
Given an area where an unknown number of unaccounted radioactive sources potentially exist, and using gamma- radiation count measurements collected at known locations within this area, the problem is to estimate the number of sources as well as their locations and intensities. Two approaches are investigated.

An effective approach to determine the dynamic source parameters

pure and applied geophysics, 1996
In this study, we present a new and effective method to determine the dynamic source parameters (i.e., stress drop and strength distribution). We first assume that the kinematic source parameters, i.e., the slip and rupture time distributions on the fault plane, are known from the previous source inversion studies.

Source Parameters and Their Determination

1979
A source of seismic waves (whether an earthquake or an explosion) is defined by the following parameters: 1. The latitude and longitude of the epicentre (i.e. the point on the earth’s surface located vertically above the source). 2. The depth of the source, or the focal depth (the source itself is called the focus or hypocentre).

Estimating the accuracy of source “parameters”

Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America, 1967
abstract This paper suggests a method for estimating the errors accompanying estimates of seismic source parameters. While the method is a general one, the data here are from 1962 and 1963 and special attention is given to a few regions, such as the Kuriles.
