Transgressive Potential Prediction and Optimal Cross Design of Seed Protein Content in the Northeast China Soybean Population Based on Full Exploration of the QTL-Allele System

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Northeast China is a major soybean production region in China. A representative sample of the Northeast China soybean germplasm population (NECSGP) composed of 361 accessions was evaluated for their seed protein content (SPC) in Tieling, Northeast China.

Photosynthetic Response of Soybean Leaf to Wide Light-Fluctuation in Maize-Soybean Intercropping System

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
In maize-soybean intercropping system, soybean plants will be affected by the wide light-fluctuation, which resulted from the shading by maize plants, as the shading of maize the light is not enough for soybean in the early morning and late afternoon ...

Salicylic Acid and Pyraclostrobin Can Mitigate Salinity Stress and Improve Anti-Oxidative Enzyme Activities, Photosynthesis, and Soybean Production under Saline–Alkali Regions

open access: yesLand, 2023
Soybean is a widespread crop in semi-arid regions of China, where soil salinity often increases and has a significant harmful impact on production, which will be a huge challenge in the coming years. Salicylic acid (SA) and pyraclostrobin are strobilurin-

Mapping QTL underlying plant height at three development stages and its response to density in soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merri.]

open access: yesBiotechnology & Biotechnological Equipment, 2020
To keep plant height (PH) stable in various densities, mapping QTL underlying te response of PH to density is of importance for soybean breeding. In this study, two soybean RIL populations were planted under two densities in two environments and PH at ...

Transgenic plant generated by RNAi-mediated knocking down of soybean Vma12 and soybean mosaic virus resistance evaluation

open access: yesAMB Express, 2020
Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) is one of the most destructive viral diseases in soybean and causes severe reduction of soybean yield and destroys the seed quality.

Studying the Effect of Dense Planting on the Mechanism of Flower Abscission in Soybean through Combined Transcriptome-Metabolome Analysis

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
A high pod abscission rate in soybean plants results in a significant decrease in the yield per plant. Under dense planting conditions, dense tolerant soybean cultivars had a relatively low rate of pod abscission, thereby facilitating higher yield.

Transfer Learning from Synthetic In-vitro Soybean Pods Dataset for In-situ Segmentation of On-branch Soybean Pod [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
The mature soybean plants are of complex architecture with pods frequently touching each other, posing a challenge for in-situ segmentation of on-branch soybean pods. Deep learning-based methods can achieve accurate training and strong generalization capabilities, but it demands massive labeled data, which is often a limitation, especially for ...

Soybean Allergens and Hypoallergenic Soybean Products.

open access: yesJournal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology, 2000
About 15 soybean proteins were shown to be recognized by sera of soybean-sensitive patients with atopic dermatitis. Three of them were identified as major allergens and designated as Gly m Bd 60K, Gly m Bd 30K, and Gly m Bd 28K, respectively. Gly m Bd 60K is an alpha subunit of beta-conglycinin well known as a major soybean storage protein.

Transcriptome profiling of interaction effects of soybean cyst nematodes and soybean aphids on soybean [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Data, 2019
AbstractSoybean aphid (Aphis glycines; SBA) and soybean cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines; SCN) are two major pests of soybean (Glycine max) in the United States of America. This study aims to characterize three-way interactions among soybean, SBA, and SCN using both demographic and genetic datasets. SCN-resistant and SCN-susceptible soybean cultivars

Flavonoid Biosynthesis Pathway May Indirectly Affect Outcrossing Rate of Cytoplasmic Male–Sterile Lines of Soybean

open access: yesPlants, 2023
(1) Background: Cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) is important for exploiting heterosis. Soybean (Glycine max L.) has a low outcrossing rate that is detrimental for breeding sterile lines and producing hybrid seeds.
